SAP Service and Asset Manager is the next generation mobile solution for SAP Intelligent
Asset Management. It is a high performing native mobile application, developed using the
latest innovations in SAP Business Technology Platform and SAP User Experience.
SAP Service and Asset Manager offers a unified native mobile solution for Enterprise Asset
and Field Service Management, with persona-centric multipersona support and standardized
technology stack using SAP Business Technology Platform Mobile Services.
SAP Service and Asset Manager 2205 supports the following three personas:

Product Release Info


SAP Service and Asset Manager is developed based on SAP Asset Manager code line,
therefore for SAP Asset Manager customers, it is a standard technical upgrade to start with
SAP Service and Asset Manager. A separate license is required to run SAP Service and Asset
Manager in production. Customer can convert SAP Asset Manager license or acquire new
license for SAP Service and Asset Manager.

SAP Service and Asset Manager provides seamless integration with SAP’s digital core. Either
an SAP S/4HANA system or SAP ERP system is required for SAP Service and Asset Manager
to function.
More integration with other SAP Intelligent Asset Management solutions such as Asset
Intelligence Network, Asset Strategy and Performance Management, Predicative
Maintenance and Service are supported, but optional.
GIS map using ESRI is supported, but optional.
SAP Service and Asset Manager reads work order scheduling information from work orders.
There is no dependency on any specific scheduling tool.

Functional Features
The SAP Service and Asset Manager 2205 supports three personas:

1. Maintenance Technician

2. Field Service Technician

3. Inventory Clerk

In the past, the Extension components were separately delivered. However, with release SAP
Service and Asset Manager 2205 the Extensions components are merged into the base app
which indicates shift in the strategy from component to persona-based model. Each standard
persona is designed with optimized user experience, data model, and performance
improvement. A user can be assigned multiple personas at the same time, and switch
between personas easily through application profile persona toggle from the device.
New licensing model based on Full Use Equivalent (FUE) Usage Type. Standard SAP persona
can be classified as either Professional Persona (1 FUE) or Standard Persona (0.5 FUE). Refer

Personas in SAP Service and Asset Manager for more information.
