Call: Morning Prayer

1) Introduce the theme: 2) Announce: Let's prepare ourselves through a hymn/bhajan: (choose a Bhajan/Hymn on call like AListen...@ or Bolu ab..). (Pause) 3) Psalms:

Psalm 139: 1-3; 4-6; 13,15-16; 23-24 with an appropriate refrain

(short) in between each section. 2 sisters can alternate the stanzas. Another Psalm/Hymn/Canticle 4) Reading: As we listen to the call of Samuel, we too shall reexperience our call/ along with Samuel/ who heard it/ while he was sleeping in the temple. So, let's have an attitude of attentive listening and receptive silence. 1 Sam 3/1-10a: only up to "Samuel! Samuel!". Pause 5) Announce: After each prayer our response will be: "Here I am, Lord, you have called me." (Recite or sing if you can this line in the tune of Here I am, Lord..) (May be said by three persons, slowly pausing, meaningfully) a) Speak, Lord,/ your servant is listening! Help us to get rid of /our useless anxieties,/ our irrational fears/ and the protective shell of our habits. We pray: b) Speak, Lord,/ your servant is listening! Open our doors/ to the ONE we do not know,/ your Son Jesus,/ and open our hearts/ to your word of tenderness. We pray: c) Speak, Lord,/ your servant is listening! The words of response are not yet on our lips,/ but you know them already, Lord. Let us have your love and grace/ and our response will be/ steady and unconditional. We pray. 6) Benedictus 7) Intercessions: R/- Lord, help us to say yes to you. 8) Our Father
(T.Kayala, c.s.c.)

9) Concluding Prayer: Lord God, you founded your Church on twelve men,/ poor in everything,/ who were sent out into the world/ as defenceless shepherds. You call us again/ to this adventure of faith and mission. Let your word never be adulterated/ by the power of this world. Let your word, Lord, continue/ to be the light of our lives,/ and even if its cutting edge/ must cause the loss of what enslaved us,/ be gracious and grant us/ to follow you/ unwaveringly/ for you bring justice to the poor/ and defend the rights of the oppressed. We make this... 9) Lets Conclude our prayer by the hymn: "And Mary said, Yes.." T20, first verse and refrain.
