01. (a) The production cost of a cupboard is Rs. 31 250. The producer obtains Rs. 4 750 profits by selling the cupboard
to a trader.
(i) What is the buying price of the cupboard trader?

(ii) The trader marks the price of the cupboard by keeping 20% profit, what is the marked price of the
cupboard?

(iii) When selling the cupboard Rs. 2 100 discount is given, what is the discount percentage given?
(b) What is the buying price of shirt which sold to Rs. 1320 with a 10% profit?

a. Kumar buys a coconut at the price of Rs. 28 per coconut and sells at the price of Rs 38
per coconut.

i. Find the profit earned by selling one coconut.

ii. Find the profit percentage.

iii. If Kumar sells 100 coconuts per a day, find the total income which he receives in a month
“ The number of coconut can’t change the profit percentage’’ prove this statement by use examples.

b. Due to immature coconuts, Kumar plans to sell each coconut at the price decreasing by Rs.3.50. Find the discount
percentage offered.

03. (a) Raman buys 600g cake for his birthday party.
(i) Cut in to 5 equal pieces and reserve 5 parts for his old friends. Represent the reserved cake piece of whole in
a diagram.

(ii) Find the remaining fraction of cake

(iii) Now remainder piece was cut into three equal pieces. Write the fraction of each small piece of whole cake.

(iv) Find the mass of one small piece as shaded in part (iii) diagram ?

04. (a) A vendor bought an incomplete newly built almirah for Rs. 25 000/= and completed it fully after spending another
Rs. 5 000. He then sold it for Rs. 40 000

(i) Find the total cost incurred by the vendor for the almirah.

(ii) Write equations for profit and loss.

(iii) Determine whether the vendor earns a profit or incurs a loss by selling the almirah.

(iv) Find the profit earned or loss incurred by the vendor.

(v) Calculate the profit / loss percentage.
