Resurrection and Judgment

Judgment is real, with both believers and unbelievers facing different types; unbelievers face the white throne judgment leading to eternal damnation, while believers face the Bema judgment based on their deeds and intentions. The hope of believers lies in Christ's sacrifice, assuring them of salvation and eternal life, which brings joy and freedom from despair even in the face of death. Believers are encouraged to view death as a transition to a better life, as they will be resurrected and transformed into imperishable beings.

1. Is judgment real? Who will be judged?

Yes Judgement is real and everyone would be judged, Both the Believers and Unbelievers
would be Judged.
Whilst the Unbelievers receives the white throne Judgement, which condemns souls that didn’t
accept Christ as their Lord and personal saviour to eternal damnation, The Believers receives
Judgement that is called the Bema Judgment or Judgement seat of Christ. This judgement,
judges Christains, based on their deeds and the motives of their deeds. However, our deeds are
not counted by how many good things we think we may have done, but by the intentions behind
these good things. And these good deeds shall be rewarded with a crown, and the bad deeds
burned away, while we remain with our lord in heaven.

“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the
elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.”
2 Peter 3:10 NIV

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If
anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work
will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and
the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will
receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though
only as one escaping through the flames.”
1 Corinthians 3:11-15 NIV

2. What is the hope of the believer?

The hope of the believer is in Christ, who died for our sins so that we can be saved. It is this
hope that keeps us steadfast in our faith, so that we can continue growing in God’s work.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.”
Romans 5:8 NIV

3. Using Scriptures, explain what should be the believer's response to death.

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so
that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus
died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen
asleep in him.”
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 NIV

Believers fuel their spirits from the knowledge that Christ died and rose again, therefore those
who have died, are only asleep, and will rise again on the last day. Therefore death isn’t the
end, this is the hope that keeps us Full of joy, and free from despair.

“Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he
might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—”
Hebrews 2:14 NIV

Christ died for us, to conquer the power of death so that we are saved for eternity. Believers
should see this as power over the devil, and the greatest display of love from God. Believers
should walk with steadfast faith Knowing that God can and has already given us everything, as
prove of his unending love.

“The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly
man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are
of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image
of the heavenly man. I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a
mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will
be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in
victory.””
1 Corinthians 15:47-54 NIV
In summary, this scripture explains it all, that the life after death, is a better life. That we as
believers, should rejoice and make merry. For a better life awaits us in death.
