The Schwing Spare–Parts Catalog on CD with the Schwing Winparts software and a printed original
are part of your Schwing machine's scope of supply.
Both versions serve the purpose of providing information on original spare parts from SCHWING.
The Schwing Winparts software is based on today's state of the art in computer technology offering an
easy and comfortable search for spare parts and the possibility of ordering the selected parts thereafter.
A complete description of the functions of the Schwing Winparts program is provided by the program's
help files on CD.
The present User's Guide explains the most important functions of the Schwing Winparts software and
gives hints on the use of the printed version.
Customer information bulletins can be opened with Schwing Winparts. Circuit diagrams and spare–parts
lists are opened with Schwing Winparts or with the free–of–charge Adobe Acrobat Reader.

For a complete description of the functions of the Schwing Winparts program press <Strg + F1> for
help.
A description of the most important functions is set out below.
The user interface of Schwing Winparts consists of the following components (Fig. 8,9).
Fig. 8
– The hierarchical tree structure (1) ensures fast orientation and navigation in the spare–parts cata-
log for the purpose of localizing a specific product assembly.
– Parts list (2) permits generating all data required for a spare–parts order.
– Picture block (3) shows the individual parts of a machine assembly. The page can contain several
picture blocks. Besides from interactions within the parts list, orders can also be generated directly in
the picture block. The picture block has its own control bar.
Hint: To enlarge the picture, click inside the block with the right mouse button and select Save as. The
saved picture block can then be opened with a standard image–editing software.
– Program functions can be selected with the help of menu bar (4) and of control bar (5).
– The parts bar (6) shows the name of the current assembly / parts list and the path in a link func-
tion.
– As already explained in conjunction with installation options, you can either run Schwing Win-
parts from the CD or install it on your computer together with the catalog data.
– If the CDs have been installed, the control bar also shows the Catalogs option (Fig.10). This item
opens the catalogs that have been installed with minimal and full installtion options.
Fig. 10
– Open the Catalogs menu item
The catalogs available after the installation will be displayed.
Click on the catalog you want to open.
– If you have not installed any of the Cds, the catalogs menu item will not be available in the control
bar.
– What does "user interface language" mean? "User interface language" means that program func-
tions are displayed in the language selected, i.e. the menu bar, the control bar and the parts list
filters.
– User interface language – To select the interface language, click Extras – Language settings in the
menu bar or press <Strg + L>. Although another language can be selected while the program is
running the newly selected language requires a program restart to become active. After the re-
start, all functions of the program will be in the language selected.
– What does "data language" mean? "Data language" means that the spare–parts lists are shown
in the slected language, i.e. the list headers and the designations of the parts themselves.
– Data language – To select the desired data language, click Extras – Language settings in the
menu bar and select the language desired. The language is changed immediately without requir-
ing a program restart. All spare parts are now shown in the language selected.
– Note: Always use the selected data language for the search function as the corresponding spare
parts will otherwise not be found.
– Taking advantage of this useful function may help you to save your experiences and to make
them available to other staff members in order to save time and money.
Use the right mouse button to create and to display notes.
Set the mouse pointer to the entry for which you want to leave a note and press the right mouse
button. A new window opens (context–sensitive menu). Then click the left mouse button on Notes
and Add.

tree structure.
Fig. 11
Set the mouse pointer to the item for which you want to leave a note and press the right mouse but-
ton. A new window opens (context–sensitive menu). Then click the left mouse button on Notes and
Add.
After successful entry of the note, the following symbol (Fig. 12) appears in the corresponding parts
list directory structure.
Fig. 12
– After opening the Schwing Winparts application, a directory structure for the localization of an as-
sembly is displayed on the title page. For each assembly, a parts list is opened automatically. An as-
sembly can consist of any number of picture blocks.
– Select the assembly. The first picture block of the assembly selected and the pertaining parts list ap-
pear on the right side of the screen.
– After the selection of the desired assembly, the user can navigate in the parts list, the picture blocks
and the menu functions.
– Parts list information can vary and consist, for instance, of the following elements:
– The needed part can be localized by means of the different searching and orientation functions:
– scrolling
– grouping
– menu search
– selection by mouse-click on the corresponding part in the parts list
Note: Parts lists/parts printed in boldface contain a subordinate parts list
– The correponding item on the picture block is allocated by a frame or a surface on the corresponding
item number.
– A spare part can be localized fast and easily by means of the following search methods:
Search
– Global search permits searching a part by means of the parts designation or number in whole spare–
parts catalog.
– To start the search function, click the Search button in the control bar or press <F3>. The search
windows opens.
– Enter the designation or the number of the part to be searched in <Search for>
– If you don't know the complete designation of a spare part, just enter the known part of the designa-
tion. eg. <Ven>. All existing parts containing the partial designation <ven> will then be displayed as
search result. In this case, the German word <Ventile>.
– Use inverted commas (") as a placeholder. eg. <"en>. All existing parts containing the partial desig-
nation <en> will then be displayed as search result. This way of searching increases the number of
hits. In this example, the German words "Ventile, Zentrale, Gelenkwelle" etc.> will be displayed.
– All parts list entries found in the search are displayed in the bottom window. A double–click on an
entry found selects this entry in the corresponding parts list and picture block.
– The search results can then be filtered for another term. To do so, use the Parts list filter button. This
corresponds to an AND search function.
– The search within an assembly/parts list by means of the parts designation or the parts number per-
mits localizing a part inside a selectable assembly/parts list.
– To activate the search, click the right mouse button on the corresponding assembly in the tree struc-
ture.
– Note: Please make sure to enter the search term in your selected data language.
– At the present stage (October 2009), parts orders cannot yet be sent to us via e-mail directly out of
the Schwing Winparts application.
You can, however, use the ordering functions of the shopping cart and print out the order form. This
order form can be sent as an attachment to an e-mail.
– Open the context menu with right mouse click on a parts list entry or an item number.
– With "Order part" or "Enter", the corresponding part (if it is a part that can be ordered) is being placed
into the shopping cart. After pressing "Enter", a windows opens in which the quantity can be speci-
fied.
– With "Specify ordering quantity" the corresponding part is placed in the cart in a selectable quantity.
The quantity is specified in a separate input window.
Multi–selection
– Multi–selection (selection of desired items by pressing at the same time the <Shift> or <Strg> keys)
permits grouping several selected items and placing them together into the shopping cart.
– Only items that can be ordered will be placed into the cart.
– A parts list entry can also be placed into the cart with a left mouse click on the shopping cart symbol.
Shopping cart
– The shopping cart contains all parts of the spare–parts order together with the necessary additional
information. The cart is the basis of an order. A complete description of the cart functions is accessi-
ble via the help function with <F1>.
– Your spare-parts catalog contains all the spare parts of your machine.
Chapter 15 with the special accessories is an exception. This chapter lists all available equipment op-
tions even if they are not part of the machine ordered by you.
– Main index
– Table of contents with page numbers
– Product parts list
– Chapters
– Alphabetical index
– The table of contents lists the main assemblies and the pertaining sub–assemblies.
This system is intended to help you to find spare parts faster.
– The product parts list contains even more details than the table of contents.
In contains in addition to the sub–assemblies also individual spare parts.
Chapters
– The chapters contain the drawings and the parts list of the assemblies.
The parts lists are preceded by the drawings.
At first glance, this subdivision looks complicated and abstract. The following example is taken from every-
day life and intended to explain the structure of the catalog.
– 1. Garments
– 1.1 Shirt
– 1.1.1 Cuff links
– 1.1.2 Necktie
– 1.2 Trousers
– 1.2.1 Belt
– 1.3 Shoes
– 1.3.1 Shoestrings
– Try to find out into which of the assemblies the spare part searched might belong. Read the chapter
"Logical structure of the spare–parts catalog".
Attention: Special accessories are always listed in chapter 15.
Search the main assembly in the main index.
Search the table of contents for the assembly and the corresponding page.
Individual parts can be found in the products part list.
– Step 3: Chapter 2 page 26, drawing pos. no. => next page, spare–parts catalog pos. 3 with quantity,
part no., designation
