Square PEN Stand

This worksheet is a detailed guide towards designing a Spirograph that can be 3D


printed for use as an object of utility.

1) To make a pen stand, first add a box from basic shapes as shown in fig.1

● Set the dimensions as, ​length (l) =50mm, width (w) =50mm, height (h) =70mm​(in
millimeter). As shown in Fig (2).

● Take another box and set the dimensions as, l​ength=47mm (to maintain thickness
3mm), width=47mm and height =80​as shown in fig (3).

● Now do the center alignment of both the boxes. Raise the inner box ​3mm above the
work plane ​(To maintain thickness 3mm). Now convert the inner box into a hole by

clicking on the ‘hole’ icon then select both boxes together and click on ‘Group‘ icon
for grouping it as shown in Fig (4).

● Take another block make its ​radius 2​, l​ ength=25mm width=55mm and
Height=37mm​as shown in fig. 5

● Lift the box ​35mm above the work plane, now select the whole object and ‘align’ it as
shown in fig 6. convert the box into a hole by clicking on the ‘hole’ button.

● Now move the hole box outward by 2mm(keep snap grid to 1mm and press the down
arrow key 2 times on keyboard. )

● Select the whole object and ‘Group’ it So that hole part will disappear and cut the
cylinder as shown in fig 8.

To 3D Print​: Export and save the file from tinkercad in .STL format. If you have a 3D
printer at home, use a slicing software like CURA to extract your gcode file needed!
Recommended print quality is Normal(Standard) i.e 0.12mm. Alternatively, you can
order your 3D print by contacting us.
