Lab 1 1

1.TITLE: CREATE USER ACCOUNT, REMOTE SUPPORT AND

FILE SHARING
2.OBJECTIVE:
To create one or more user accounts on a PC and assign the role of
administrator to one of the user accounts.
To download commonly used remote support applications such as AnyDesk.
To share files from one PC to another (using the concept of many-to-one), both
with and without the use of remote support tools.

3.THEORY:
a. User Account Control (UAC)
User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 11 is a security feature that alerts you when a program
attempts to make changes to your computer that require administrator-level privileges. It helps
protect your system from unauthorized modifications by malicious software or accidental
actions. Essentially, UAC prompts you for permission before a program can make changes that
could affect the stability or security of your system, empowering you to make informed decisions
about these changes.

b. Remote supporter:

A "remote supporter" is an individual or team providing technical assistance and support to
users from a remote location, typically using specialized software to connect to and control the
user's device. This allows them to diagnose problems, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them
without needing to be physically present.

c. File shearing:

Sharing a file from one device to many others using an IP address involves enabling file sharing
on the source device and then accessing the shared resources from the target devices using
their IP addresses. This allows users on the network to access and potentially modify files
stored on another computer.

5.Conclusion

In this lab, we successfully created two user accounts on a Windows system:

one named Admin with administrative privileges, and another named Local
User with standard user rights. This setup demonstrates user role
management and access control within an operating system environment.
Furthermore, we installed and configured a remote support application,

AnyDesk, to facilitate remote desktop access and support. This tool enables
secure and efficient remote connections, which are essential in modern IT
support scenarios. Through this practical session, we also explored basic file
sharing capabilities, enhancing our understanding of collaborative computing
and remote system administration. Overall, this lab provided valuable
hands-on experience in system user management, remote access tools, and
file sharing mechanisms.
