Robotics –

Robotics is a branch of engineering and technology that deals with the design, construction,
operation, and use of robots. It combines various fields like mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering, computer science, and artificial intelligence (AI) to create machines that can perform
tasks autonomously or semi-autonomously.

A robot is a software-controlled mechanical device that uses sensors to guide one or more end
effectors through programmed motions in a workspace in order to manipulate physical objects.
Robots are used in various fields, including manufacturing, healthcare, space exploration, military,
and service industries, where they enhance efficiency, precision, and safety.

LAW OF ROBOTICS

A robot may not injure humanity or, through inaction, allow humanity to come to harm. (This was
added after the initial three laws.

1. A robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to
harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings except where such orders would
conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the
First or Second Law.
