INSTRUCTIONS Perform the following tasks:
1. Individual assignment.
2. The answer must be submitted as a WORD file only and must include
the given cover page.
3. Show all the steps of the test based on the given practical.
4. Plagiarized assignments will receive zero (0) marks.
5. Late submissions will be penalized by deducting 20% from the total
marks to ensure a fair assessment.
DELIVERABLES 1. A report which consists of the working code which contains the functions
and output
2. Demo of the working program.

ASSIGNMENT 1
Assignment Title:
Aim : The task is to produce a technical report based on “The Evolution Of Computer
Technology”.
Objective: The purpose of this assignment is to assess students’ ability to create a well-
structured and formatted technical report using Microsoft Word. Students will
demonstrate proficiency in document formatting, text structuring, referencing, and the
use of various Word processing features.
1. The numbering of sections, figures and pages should follow the appropriate
conventions.
2. The language style should be appropriate to a formal engineering report.
Specific Instructions
1. Title Page
• As the title page make sure it includes the relevant details:
• The name and number of the course (AJB21602: Microcomputer
Application)
• The required submission date
• Your name and ID number
• An appropriate title for the report
2. Abstract
• The Abstract should be no longer than 300 words. – Summarize the key
point of the reports.
3. Main Body
• Early developments in computer technology

• Major breakthroughs and milestones
• The rise of personal computers and modern computing
• The impact of AI and emerging technologies in the aviation industry
5. References
• Text references and a List of References must be included in the report
using IEEE style. The full references are listed in order at the end of the
report. Insert the references using the Microsoft Word’s referencing tool.
6. Appearances
• Use appropriate fonts, alignment etc. The body text should be Times New
Roman, 12 point font, 1.5 line spacing.
• Ensure your document is spell checked and corrected.
• The pages should be numbered using the automatic page numbering
function in MS Word.
• Insert a table of contents using built-in Word features and display the
corresponding page number.
• Set up the header so that a document title appears in the top centre of each
page.
• Set up a footer so that page numbers appear on every page, except the
table of contents page.
• The report should be no more than 5 pages long, not including the title page
and table of content.
• Ensure proper alignment using Justify and consistent formatting.
7. Diagrams
• Often the reports will contain figures, and these may be charts pasted from
Excel, or they may be photographs or other illustrations.

• These should have captions, which are numbered and include a brief
description using the built-in Word features.
• Reference can then be made to the figure from within the written report.
8. Submission Requirements:
• Submit the document in .docx format.
• File name format: StudentID_Name_TechReport.docx.
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Ensure your report is original and properly
cited.
