Test 2 Practice Problems

Precalculus Spring 2024

The following problems are meant to provide a guide for your self-study of the material. Each can be
found by number in their respective section (at the end of each section under “Exercises”) in your
textbook. They are not meant to be an exhaustive list of the problems you should do. You should
practice as many problems as you need until you feel like you understand the concepts.

You may be able to check your answers with the textbook on some of these problems, but for others
you will have to check your answer yourself. This is a good skill to practice.

In addition, the problems on Test 2 will be nearly identical to the practice problems listed here
(with, at most, a few numbers here and there tweaked).

• Section 5.3:
◦ 1,5,23,38,32,35,53,61,63,67,68,76,79
• Section 5.4:
◦ 5,6,7,9,12,19,20,21,26,28,29 (Note: even though unit circles are included, feel free to use
either that or the special triangles. Furthermore, I would recommend you memorize your
unit circle and/or special triangle, because I cannot guarantee that the unit circle will be
included on the test.)
• Section 5.5:
◦ 17,20,22,43,44,46,61,63
• Section 5.6 (note: for tan, cot, use the key points order in the lecture notes, not the textbook):
◦ 6, 12, 17,24,31,40,41,44
• Section 2.7:
◦ 4,6,7,10,11,17,25,29,33,36,37
• Section 5.7:
◦ 1,6,8,9,12,13,16,31,33,34,36,37,41
