LasikPlus Statement

Suicide is a tragedy, and our hearts go out to family, friends and loved ones who have lost
someone to suicide. Suicide is an extremely complex event. It demands attention – and merits
compassion, and we strongly encourage anyone contemplating suicide or worried about a
friend or loved one should contact the Suicide Prevention Lifeline by calling or texting 988.
Legal requirements prevent us from speaking to the specifics of any patient, but suicide
generally cannot be reduced to any single cause. There is no clinical evidence linking suicide to
LASIK eye surgery.

The safety and effectiveness of LASIK is established by a large body of peer-reviewed clinical
data – more than 7,000 individual clinical studies have been conducted over the past 25 years.
LASIK studies meet the highest standards for biomedical research. Clinical experience with
LASIK involves tens of millions of procedures worldwide. This data and this experience establish
LASIK as a safe and effective vision correction option for all those patients who are medical
candidates for the procedure.

The clinical data on LASIK gathered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the American
Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and hundreds of academic medical researchers
across the globe confirm a patient satisfaction rate in excess of 96 percent. The clinical evidence
demonstrates that the risk profile for LASIK eye surgery is extremely low.

The safety and the benefits of LASIK have been recognized by organizations with the highest
standards for safety and visual acuity -- including the United States Military and NASA, who
have conducted their own independent research. Today, these organizations make modern
LASIK procedures available to improve the vision of their most elite personnel, including
sharpshooters and astronauts.

Not everyone is a safe candidate for laser vision correction and every individual must weigh the
risks and benefits of an elective medical procedure. At LasikPlus, the company and our affiliated

includes (i) careful patient diagnostic screening and candidacy selection prior to recommending

outside providers if a patient’s continuing ophthalmological issues are better served by a
general or specialty ophthalmology practice.
