1. Introduction
As a part of our Community Development course, we
were assigned a field visit to observe the operations of a
social welfare organization and understand how it
contributes to societal well-being. Our group selected
JDC Foundation Pakistan for this assignment, a
prominent NGO that plays a leading role in Pakistan's
humanitarian and community development efforts. This
report summarizes our learnings from the visit, the
services of JDC, and the insights we gained from staff
interviews.

6. Observations and Reflections
From the interviews and our simulated visit, we observed that JDC Foundation runs on
strong humanitarian values, professional systems, and community-driven efforts. The staff
members are deeply passionate, and their responses showed a clear alignment with
community development principles: empowerment, inclusiveness, and sustainability. Their
volunteer culture, transparency, and dignity-driven services make them a role model in
Pakistan’s nonprofit sector.

7. Conclusion
Our visit to JDC gave us a deep understanding of how social work organizations contribute
meaningfully to society. From free education to healthcare, from ration drives to
empowering women and youth, JDC is actively building a stronger, fairer, and more
compassionate Pakistan. We learned that community development is not just theory—it is
living practice, visible in the faces of people who serve and those who are served.
