1. Zoom Tool:

The Clone tool copies information from one area of an
image to another. We can also clean up small flaws or erase
elements in our image.

1. What is the function of GIMP toolbox?
Ans: The GIMP Toolbox is a main feature of the GIMP that

images. The toolbox is typically located at the left side of
the GIMP window.

2. Name the different ways to change size of an image.


Ans: There are three ways to change size of an image in GIMP,
these are:
• On-screen size of an image.
• The print size of an image.
• The canvas size of an image.

3. What is the use of Scissors Select tool?


Ans: Scissors Select tool is used to select elements of an
image that have well-defined edges. This tool is beneficial
for tasks that have detailed cut-out.

G. Answer Briefly.
1. What is GIMP? Write down its features.
Ans: GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation
Program. It is an open source program that allows to create,
modify, combine and optimize digital images.
Features of GIMP are:-
• Understanding and selecting Pixels
• Painting image
• Adjusting Color
• Applying Effects
• Applying Filters
• Adding Text

2. What are color modes? Write the use of different color
modes.
Ans: We can use Color Mode to apply the specific colors in our
image. Popularly used color modes in GIMP are RGB and
Grayscale.
i. RGB Mode: RGB is the common mode for working with
colored images in GIMP.
ii. Grayscale Mode: We can convert the image to grayscale
mode by removing color from it.

3. What do you mean by Adjusting brightness and contrast of


an image?
Ans: Adjusting the brightness and contrast of an image in GIMP
involves modifying the overall lightness (brightness) and the
difference between the lightest and darkest parts (contrast) of
the image to improve its visual quality or achieve a desired
effect.

4. What are Filters? Why do we use RGB Noise filter?


Ans: With GIMP filters, we can quickly enhancements to our image,
including artistic effects, texture effects, and distortions. Filters
can help us to correct defects in our image.
RGB Noise filter: Filters in RGB Noise add or remove a texture
resembling that of sand in our image. We can add graininess
with the Add Noise Filter.
