CELPIP Strategy & Template Guide

- CELPIP Listening Strategy

Overview

- Total time: ~47-55 minutes


- 6 parts - Listening to problem-solving, discussion, news, viewpoint, etc.
- Headphones provided during the test.

Key Strategies

- Read questions quickly during preparation time before the audio begins.
- Take short notes while listening - focus on keywords, numbers, tone.
- Do NOT try to write every word. Prioritize comprehension.
- Be ready to answer as soon as the audio finishes.
- Watch for distractors - options that sound correct but aren-t.

CLB 9 Target

- Aim for 33-35 correct out of ~38-40 questions.


- Listen for detail, tone, and main idea shifts.
- Practice multitasking: read and listen at the same time.
