Installing a Standalone License


This document outlines the procedure for installing your standalone license over the
Internet using the License Manager. For new installations on a PC being licensed for
the first time the License Wizard will take you through the licensing process.

If you do not have Internet access, please refer to the document standalone_
InstallLicenseWithoutInternet.pdf.

You can only install the license once the software has been installed on your PC.

If you are installing a keyed license, ensure that the key is attached to the PC.

Installing a Standalone License


You install your license from the License Manager dialog.

1. Run License Manager.

2. From the Server menu, select Search Standalone to list all available options.

3. In the server list, select the appropriate option and then the Change Active
Server button to make it active. Note:

a. To install a keyless standalone license on desktop PC’s, select the


‘Standalone (Keyless Ethernet)’ option.

b. To install a keyless standalone license on laptops, it is recommended that


you select the ‘Standalone (Keyless Wireless)’ option.

c. To install a standalone license locked to a key, select the option labelled


‘Standalone (Computer ID Key)’.

4. Click Install License.

How you proceed depends on whether you already have a license file (.clss file) or
not:

• If you do not have a license file, you must request this from our server over
the Internet (Method 1 – Requesting a License File)

• If you already have a license (.clss file), you install this file (Method 2 –
Installing a License File).

Method 1 - Requesting a License File from us


After you have clicked the Install License button (see page 1), the Select License
dialog is displayed.

You now need to request a license file over the Internet.

To request a license file over the Internet

1. Type in or copy-and-paste your Servercode.

2. Click Request License File to request a license file from our server over the
Internet.

3. Click Next to go to the license activation dialog (see below).

To activate the license

1. In the License Activation dialog, enter your email address (optional).

If you type in your email address, your information will be sent to our server
and, once you have completed the confirmation dialog, you can download
and install the license file automatically.

2. Click Next to go to the license confirmation dialog (see below).

3. Click Finish to complete the license installation process.

You are now ready to run the software.

Method 2 – Selecting an Existing License File (.clss)


After you have clicked the Install License button (see page 1), the Select License
dialog is displayed.

You can now select the license (.clss file) that you have downloaded from our server
and/or received per email.

To install the license file

1. Type in or copy-and-paste your Servercode.

2. Click Use License File.

3. Browse for and select the license file (the license file will be named
<servercode>.clss, i.e. 1234-4567-1234-4567-1234-4567.clss for example).

4. Click Next to go to the license confirmation dialog (see below).

5. Click Finish to complete the license installation process.

You are now ready to run the software.
