Assignment-6

The document outlines various basic electronics problems, including the design and analysis of a bridge rectifier, Zener diode calculations, differential amplifier output, binary subtraction using 2's complement, and logic circuit design with truth tables and Karnaugh maps. It also covers frequency modulation concepts, calculations related to modulated signals, and sketches for different modulation techniques. Each problem includes specific parameters and requires circuit diagrams or waveforms as part of the solution.

BASIC ELECTRONICS

1.Draw the circuit of Bridge Rectifier having a capacitor filter with input output wave forms and find
Vdc and ripple factor for given values of Vm=24V, Rl=1KΩ, C=1000µF and f= 50Hz.

2.In a Zener diode Izmin=5mA, Izmax=40MA, Vz=50V Calculate Rs(series resistance) which allows IL=0 to
maximum considering Vi=200V. ii)if IL=25mA and Rs as before calculate Vimin and Vimax . Draw the Zener
voltage regulator circuit.

3.Determine the output voltage of a differential amplifier for the input of 300µv and 240 µv. The
differential gain of the amplifier is 5000 and CMRR is 105.

4.Subtract (11.75)10 from (5.50)8using 2’s complement method.

5.In a certain application four inputs ABCD are fed to a logic circuit producing an output Z which
controls a relay Z=1 for the following input states (ABCD);0000, 0010, 0101, 0110, 1101, and 1110.
The states 1000 and 1001 do not occur and Z=0 for the remaining states.

i)obtain truth table for Z.

ii)Use Karnaugh map to find a minimal SOP and implement the same using NAND gates only.

6.Draw the logic circuit for the 3 bit up counter using negative edge triggered JK flipflops. Also sketch
the Timing diagram.

7.Define frequency modulation. Sketch the frequency modulated signal in time domain for a
sinusoidal modulating signal.

8. A carrier of peak Amplitude 5V and frequency 90MHz is frequency modulated by a sinusoidal

voltage of peak amplitude 5V and frequency 10KHZ. If the frequency sensitivity is 10Hz/V, Calculate
the Frequency Deviation and modulation index. Write the equation for the resulting FM wave.

9.The output current of a 60% modulated AM signal generator is 1.5A. to what value will this current
rise if the generator is modulated additionally by another audio wave, whose modulation index is 0.7?

10.Sketch the modulated signal waveforms for ASK,FSK, and PSK if the modulating data stream is
10101.
