The purpose of this EXCEL file is to calculate the equivalent parallel impedance (R//) and capacitance (C//)
of a differential one port device by simply entering the S-Parameters in polar form. The two wires of a differential one
port can be treated as single-ended input and output ports of an equivalent two-port. The S-Parameters of this
equivalent two port can be easily measured with a standard 50-ohm two-port network analyzer.
To find the reflection coefficient Gd of the differential one-port device, use the following formula:
Gd= [(2*S11-S21)(1-S22-S12)+(1-S11-S21)(1+S22-2*S12)] / [(2-S21)(1-S22-S12)+(1-S11-S21)(1+S22)]
(Konstroffer's from RF Design magazine Jan. 1999 page 24)
Where the S11, S12, S21, and S22 parameters are measured with a standard 50-ohm two-port network analyzer
The equivalent parallel resistance (R//) and capacitance (C//) can then be calculated as shown in TOCs on page 6 of
MAX2306 datasheet "CDMA Port". Based on this R// and C//, one can design the appropriate parallel impedance matching network.
