Practical 8

Objective: To create an Award Certificate in MS Word with landscape orientation and


graphical elements.

 Procedure:

1. Open MS Word and create a new document.


2. Change page orientation to Landscape (Layout > Orientation > Landscape).
3. Insert a Page Border (Design > Page Borders).
4. Insert a graphic from Clip Art or Online Pictures (Insert > Pictures > Online Pictures,
search 'Leisure').
5. Add suitable award certificate content.
6. Save the document and print.

Practical 9
Objective: To create a Curriculum Vitae in MS Word using formatting tools.

 Procedure:

7. Open MS Word and start a new document.


8. Create sections: PERSONAL, ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS, WORKING EXPERIENCES,
HOBBIES.
9. Use tab keys for PERSONAL info formatting.
10. Use a table to organize ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS.
11. Use bullets for WORKING EXPERIENCES.
12. Use simple text formatting for HOBBIES.
13. Save and print the document.

Practical 10
Objective: To write an application for 7 days leave using specific formatting in MS Word.

 Procedure:

14. Open MS Word and create a new document.


15. Write an application to the Principal requesting 7 days leave.
16. Apply single line spacing and left alignment.
17. Set Font to Arial and Font size to 12.
18. Save and print the document.

Practical 11
Objective: To write a leave application using a specific font and apply texture background.
 Procedure:

19. Open MS Word and write an application to your principal for a leave certificate.
20. Change font to 'Book Antiqua' and font size to 15.
21. Apply texture background using File > Options > Advanced > Print Background Colors
and Images.
22. Save and print (without background).

Practical 12
Objective: To write a passage using columns and Drop Cap in MS Word.

 Procedure:

23. Open MS Word and write a passage from your book.


24. Create three columns (Layout > Columns > Three).
25. Apply different font sizes to each column.
26. Apply Drop Cap to the first column (Insert > Drop Cap).
27. Save and print the document.

Practical 13
Objective: To write an application and insert a table in MS Word.

 Procedure:

28. Open MS Word and write an application to the librarian for book issuance.
29. Insert a table with columns: S. No., Book Name, Author Name, Edition.
30. Save and print the document.

Practical 14
Objective: To write and format a paragraph with different styles and insert a picture.

 Procedure:

31. Write a paragraph from your book.


32. Copy and paste it three times.
33. Apply different font styles, sizes, and colors to each paragraph.
34. Apply border to the first paragraph.
35. Insert a picture from Clip Art in the second paragraph.
36. Set Roll No. and Examination 2015 in header.
37. Set Page No. in footer.
38. Save and print.
Practical 15
Objective: To type mathematical phrases and apply formatting in MS Word.

 Procedure:

39. Type the phrase: Area of circle = 2πR², Mean(n)=ΣXn, Sinθ, Cosθ, Formula of water =
H₂O.
40. Apply a border to the phrase.
41. Copy it three times and change the color for each.
42. Set 'Formula' as the heading in the header.
43. Set page number in the footer.
44. Save and print.
