TITLE PROJECT PROPOSAL 1: Development of an Efficient and Scalable Inventory
Management System for Bookselling Enterprises.

Background:

In today's digital age, book-selling enterprises—whether operating online or in

physical locations—require efficient inventory management systems to ensure smooth
operations and maintain profitability. Inventory management plays a crucial role in
tracking stock levels, managing sales, and optimizing supply chain processes. However,
many businesses, particularly small- and medium-sized bookstores, still rely on
traditional inventory tracking methods such as spreadsheets or manual record-keeping.
These outdated practices are often prone to errors, inefficiencies, and data loss (Duru,
n.d.), leading to inaccurate stock levels, overstocking, lost sales opportunities, and poor
customer satisfaction. (Yoon, Lee, Lee, & Park, 2016).

The lack of an automated and integrated inventory management system poses

significant challenges for book retailers. Without real-time tracking, businesses may
experience delays in stock replenishment, inaccurate demand forecasting, and
inefficiencies in order fulfillment. Additionally, many bookshops struggle with the high
costs of implementing digital inventory solutions, lack of technical expertise, and
difficulties in integrating such systems with existing sales platforms (Okeke, 2017).
These challenges highlight the gap between traditional inventory management practices
and modern technological advancements, limiting the potential for business growth
and competitiveness in the digital marketplace.

This study seeks to address these challenges by developing a cost-effective, user-

friendly, and scalable inventory management system designed specifically for book-
selling businesses. By integrating automation, predictive analytics, and cloud-based
technologies, the proposed system aims to enhance inventory accuracy, streamline
business operations, and optimize supply chain management. Ultimately, this research
aspires to contribute to the digital transformation of book retailing, ensuring greater
efficiency, reduced operational costs, and improved customer satisfaction.

Anchor/Resolution:

Book inventory management, this study proposes the development of a scalable,

cost-effective, and technology-driven inventory management system that enhances real-
time stock tracking, automation, and integration with sales platforms. This solution will
bridge the gap between traditional inventory management practices and modern digital
advancements, ensuring that book-selling enterprises—particularly small and medium-
sized businesses—can efficiently manage their inventory without facing the challenges
of high costs, technical complexity, or system incompatibility.
One of the key challenges book retailers face is the lack of real-time tracking,
which leads to inaccurate stock levels and delays in replenishment (Yoon, Lee, Lee, &
Park, 2016). To resolve this, the proposed system will incorporate real-time inventory
monitoring using automated bar code or RFID scanning technologies, ensuring that
stock updates instantly reflect purchases and restocking. This approach has been shown
to significantly reduce errors and improve supply chain efficiency (Duru, n.d.).

Furthermore, the high cost and complexity of inventory management software

have been major barriers to adoption, particularly for SMEs (Okeke, 2017). This study
will address this gap by developing a cloud-based solution that eliminates the need for
expensive hardware installations and allows seamless access across multiple devices.
Research suggests that cloud-based inventory systems reduce infrastructure costs and
enhance data security while improving accessibility and scalability (Yoon et al., 2016).

Additionally, inaccurate demand forecasting and inefficient stock management

often lead to overstocking or stockouts, negatively affecting sales and customer
satisfaction. To solve this, the system will integrate predictive analytics powered by
machine learning algorithms to analyze historical sales data, seasonal trends, and
customer preferences. Studies have shown that AI-driven inventory forecasting can
improve demand prediction accuracy and optimize stock levels (Duru, n.d.).

Lastly, the lack of integration between inventory systems and sales platforms
prevents bookshops from managing stock across multiple locations or online stores.
This study will incorporate multi-channel synchronization, enabling seamless
integration with point-of-sale (POS) systems, e-commerce platforms, and third-party
logistics providers. This integration will streamline order processing, reduce stock
mismatches, and improve the overall efficiency of book-selling operations (Okeke,
2017).

By implementing these technological advancements, the proposed system aims to

enhance inventory accuracy, improve operational efficiency, and drive business
profitability, ultimately empowering book retailers to thrive in the modern digital
marketplace.

General Problem:

How can book-selling enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized

businesses, address inventory issues such as overstocking, stock shortages, and
ineffective sales tracking caused by outdated or manual methods, and implement a
centralized, technology-driven inventory system that enhances real-time stock tracking,
demand forecasting, and operational efficiency to reduce financial losses, improve
profitability, and increase customer satisfaction?

TITLE PROJECT PROPOSAL 2: Web-Based Booking for Staycations: Enhancing
Efficiency and Satisfaction

Background:

Consumer-business interaction has been one of the most effective social media
marketing strategies for boosting customer relationships with brands. Customer
engagement refers to the satisfaction, loyalty, and excitement of clients toward a
business (Bansal, Rohit, 2016). The study by Setlur Neil Bhargav and Setlur Govindaraj
Narayana (2017) shows that customer satisfaction with a service directly impacts
loyalty, highlighting the correlation between customer engagement and business
success.

One of the most effective customer engagement strategies is commerce messaging,

which enables customers to interact directly with business owners, employees, or
representatives. Platforms such as Facebook and Instagram are widely used for
customer outreach, marketing, and sales operations. However, one common challenge
for businesses is managing a high volume of inquiries, particularly in SMS centers. To
address this, systems like commerce servers and instant messaging servers have been
implemented to support messaging services. These include automated responses to
frequently asked questions, ensuring instant replies to customer inquiries and reducing
the workload for business owners (Flores Pablo, Mok Barney, Kevin Guo, Carlos López,
Vasudevan Jayanth, 2018).

Despite the importance of digital engagement, many business owners overlook the
significance of having an effective website, which plays a crucial role in building strong
customer relationships. A study by Verisign concludes that businesses with websites
are perceived as more reliable than those without one. Websites enhance a business’s
overall appearance, attract potential buyers, and increase revenue (Janet, 2022).
Additionally, a well-structured website provides easy access to customer inquiries by
including answers to common questions, helping businesses collect data on customer
preferences, areas for improvement, and potential enhancements for business growth.

This research aims to develop an efficient customer-business interaction system

that benefits both business owners and customers. The proposed solution includes
instant messaging for inquiries, an accessible business page or website, increased
customer traffic, and improved rapport with potential customers.

Anchor/Resolution:

Challenges businesses face in maintaining effective consumer-business interactions,

particularly in managing high volumes of customer inquiries and engagement. The
absence of a streamlined communication system and the lack of an optimized online
presence contribute to inefficiencies that hinder business growth and customer
satisfaction. To address these issues, this study proposes the integration of an advanced
customer interaction system that includes automated commerce messaging, instant
responses to customer inquiries, and a well-structured business website.
Research supports the effectiveness of digital solutions in enhancing customer
engagement. According to Flores et al. (2018), automated messaging systems
significantly reduce response times and improve business efficiency. Similarly, Bansal
(2016) emphasizes that customer engagement strategies, including direct
communication channels and digital presence, foster stronger relationships with
consumers. The study by Setlur & Setlur (2017) further highlights the correlation
between customer satisfaction and loyalty, indicating the importance of implementing
tools that ensure seamless interactions. Additionally, a study by Verisign (2022)
demonstrates that businesses with websites gain more credibility and experience
increased customer traffic compared to those without one.

By leveraging these digital strategies, businesses can enhance their customer

engagement efforts, reduce operational burdens, and create a more efficient
communication system. This research aims to develop a solution that integrates instant
messaging, automated responses, and an optimized online platform to improve
customer-business interactions.

General Problem:

This study is the inefficiency of customer-business interactions due to delayed

responses, unstructured communication systems, and a lack of an optimized online
presence. How can the implementation of an advanced customer engagement system,
including instant messaging, automated responses, and a well-structured business
website, improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business growth?

TITLE PROJECT PROPOSAL 3 Implementing an Advanced Billing System to Enhance
Efficiency at Eatery.

Background:

With the continuous advancement of technology and development of different systems

in various fields like in the government, education, business and a lot more. The government
has a centralized system where valuable information concerning its citizens are accessible to
the public. The education sector uses learning management systems especially when the
pandemic struck and the need for distant learning came to picture. Large companies operating
with improved technology to elevate their productions and ease with monitoring their sales.
However, it is an undeniable matter to say that there are still places the technology has not
reached because of several factors such as lack of means and resources. But what if a simple
local eatery utilizes the ease of having an advanced system? This is why the proponents of this
study want to explore the implementation of an advanced billing system in a local eatery.

According to the DealHub Experts, reviewed by Alon Michaeli in August 2023, “Automated
billing is a system that enables business to streamline and automate ther billing, invoicing, and
payment processes, making them faster, simpler, and more efficient.” This technology is
essential for reducing errors, minimizing delays, and ensuring timely payments—key factors
that contribute to substantial efficiency gains for businesses.

In the Philippines, the eatery business has become a thriving sector due to the
demand for convenient and affordable dining options. Local eateries, often referred to
as "carinderias," play a significant role in providing quick, home-style meals to the
community. Implementing an advanced billing system at Eatery would significantly
enhance its operational efficiency, reduce the manual workload, and improve customer
service. The current challenges of relying on traditional methods, such as storing
customer and transaction data manually, can lead to inefficiencies and errors. By
transitioning to an advanced system, Eatery can improve accuracy in billing, streamline
payment processes, and ensure that customer data is securely stored in a digital format,
making it easier to retrieve when necessary.

An advanced billing system can provide valuable features such as customizable

billing cycles, real-time analytics, and secure transaction processing. These features not
only support decision-making by offering insights into customer behavior and sales
patterns but also increase customer trust by ensuring the timely and accurate
processing of payments. Furthermore, automated billing systems are adaptable and
scalable, which means they can grow alongside the business without needing a major
overhaul as the customer base expands. By adopting such systems, Eatery will also be
in line with trends in the foodservice industry, where establishments are increasingly
leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience. This
move towards automation aligns with the broader shift seen in the Philippines'
hospitality and retail sectors, where businesses are embracing digital solutions to stay
competitive

This study, therefore, aims to provide an automated billing solution that not only
addresses current inefficiencies but also positions the eatery for sustained growth and
improved customer satisfaction.
Anchor/Resolution:

According to (Bhargave et al , 2013).The foodservice industry, particularly in the

Philippines, the increasing demand for efficient billing solutions has exposed the
limitations of manual systems commonly used by small eateries. These manual
methods, which involve paper-based recording and filing, are error-prone, time-
consuming, and inefficient. They result in challenges such as delayed transaction
processing, lost or inaccurate data, and difficulties in scaling operations. For
establishments like "carinderias," these inefficiencies hinder their ability to compete in a
fast-paced and increasingly digital market.

To address these challenges, advanced billing systems have emerged as a solution,

offering features such as automated invoice generation, real-time sales tracking, secure
payment processing, and centralized data storage. These systems improve operational
efficiency and reduce human errors.

To address these challenges, advanced billing systems have emerged as a solution,

offering features such as automated invoice generation, real-time sales tracking, secure
payment processing, and centralized data storage.

In a study by Smith, Rayan & Taqa, Amer. (2013), the impact of digital
transformation on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) was explored, highlighting
that the adoption of digital systems significantly enhances business efficiency and
scalability. This transformation, driven by tools such as automated billing systems, not
only addresses issues such as inefficiency and human error but also empowers
businesses to manage larger transaction volumes with ease. The integration of such
technology is particularly beneficial for SMEs in the foodservice industry, which face
constant pressure to meet customer demands and maintain high service standards. The
study emphasizes that digital adoption can lead to improved customer satisfaction and
better data management, both of which are crucial in a competitive marketplace. By
streamlining billing processes, eateries can not only reduce operational errors but also
gain valuable insights into their business performance, helping them adapt quickly to
changing consumer preferences and market trends. These advantages are central to
improving the operational performance of small businesses like Mejica's Eatery, which
can benefit from the scalability and efficiency that digital transformation offers.

General Problem:

This study is the inefficiencies present in Eatery’s current billing system, including
manual data storage, transaction errors, and delays in retrieving customer information.
To resolve these issues, this study seeks to answer the question: How can the
implementation of an advanced automated billing system improve operational
efficiency, minimize transaction errors, and enhance customer satisfaction in Eatery?"
