EARLY STAGE 1 ORIENTATION Our new Early Stage 1 students for 2010 have now had the opportunity to visit classrooms in our school on four occasions. They have participated in a range of activities related to English, mathematics, COGs (Connected Outcomes Groups) and Gross Motor. It is wonderful to see the way the children are already adjusting to coming to school and eagerly pick up their name tags each time. Last night the parent information evening was held and parents were given a bag full of valuable information to assist with their childs smooth transition into school. Mrs Jenny Kneipp, a co-odinator for the transition of children from home to school addressed the parent group, along with a P&C representative and two of our current Early Stage 1 parents. I would like to give a special thanks to these people for giving up their time to join us. It was great to hear their positive thoughts about our school. There are still two more orientation events. One is next week, Thursday, 26th November for children to join in an assembly, at 2pm. The second is on Tuesday, 1 December, in the Early Stage 1 classrooms. The new students Stage 3 buddies for next year will be with them for an activity during this visit. We hope that everyone has enjoyed participating in at least a couple of our orientation activities this year and we hope these have helped prepare children for starting school in 2010.
