Instructions Part 1. Adding Your Characters

The document provides instructions for replacing default character sprites in a game with custom sprite sheets found in the Skins folder. It specifies the directory numbers for each character and emphasizes that only one sprite sheet per folder is allowed, which must be in PNG format and match the template size. Additionally, it warns that improperly sized sprites may cause game crashes and that custom characters will not have tunic colors changed during upgrades.

You are on page 1/ 1

You can replace any of the 9 starting characters with custom sprite sheets.

You can
find examples of plenty of characters to choose from in the Skins folder. Simply
copy-paste the sprite sheet you want to replace into one of the corresponding
folders. It will then replace the default character in the slot.

Here are the default characters and what directory numbers they correspond to:

(1)Link (2)Girl (3)Monkey

(4)Frog (5)Fox (6)Penguin

(7)Rabbit (8)Wolf (9)Mouse

Notes:

Put only 1 sheet per folder, the game will only read the first file it sees.

The sprite sheet has to be the same size and format as the example template. File
can be named what you want. Only PNG images will work.

To reset a character back to the default skin, you can delete the file from the
corresponding folder.

Custom characters won't have their tunic colors changed when upgrading tunics,
maybe in the future it can be done.

You can use the template file if you want to try to draw your own.

There's no stopping you from put any PNG you want, the game won't check and may
crash if it's not in the correct size and format.

There's no guarantee your custom sprites will look good or behave correctly in the
game if they aren't drawn right. Make sure all the heads and poses look similar to
Link's template.
