PREPARE TO CONDUCT THE

TRAINING OF
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
FOR ACTION LEARNING

BY GROUP 3
Introduction

In conducting instructional design learning, it is crucial for us to

prepare everything, including how to train or how we communicate
and deliver our learning to achieve learning objectives. Here are
the key points we need to consider to prepare ourselves for
training on constructivist design:
Leadership Role

Set the Agenda and Follow Through: Explain to participants

what they will learn, how they will learn, and what is expected
of them. Make sure to adhere to the agreed-upon agenda.

Focus on Learning Objectives: Ensure the training session

focuses on achieving the predetermined learning objectives.

Protect the Rights of Every Participant: Ensure all participants

have an equal opportunity to learn and participate. Don't let
one person dominate the discussion.

Listen to Understand: Listen carefully to what participants say

and show respect for their input. Don’t rush to interrupt or
provide answers before you fully understand the question.

Summarize and Explain: Summarize and explain important

topics periodically to help participants understand the
relationship between topics.
Creating a Conducive Atmosphere:

● Manage Distractions: Avoid internal and external

distractions such as noise, temperature, lighting, or
other disturbances. Create a comfortable and quiet
environment so participants can focus.

● Arrange the Room Properly: Ensure the room layout

allows for good visibility, enough space to work, and all
necessary materials are available. Arrange chairs and
tables in a way that encourages interaction and
collaboration.

● Set the Schedule: Set appropriate break times, at least

once in the morning and once in the afternoon, to keep
participants energized. Give sufficient breaks to help
participants refocus after a break.
Building Trust and Credibility

• Introduce Yourself: Explain who you are and why you are appropriate to lead the training
session. Share your experience and how that experience will benefit the participants.

• Provide Value: Explain the benefits participants will receive from the training. Focus on
concrete outcomes and how the training will help participants in their work.

• Use Audience Knowledge: Do a brief audience needs assessment to understand their

knowledge level and tailor your presentation accordingly. Don't assume all participants
have the same level of knowledge.

• Model Trust: Demonstrate your integrity, ethics, and expertise to build participants’
trust. Be honest, open, and professional.

• Maintain Your Skills: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the training field
and continue to develop your skills. Read books and articles, attend workshops, and
discuss with colleagues to continuously learn and improve your capabilities.
Utilizing Effective Facilitation Techniques

• Ask Questions: Use various types of questions to encourage discussion,

clarify points, and stimulate thinking. Ask open-ended questions that
encourage participants to think critically and provide in-depth answers.

• Respond to Questions Appropriately: Listen to questions, clarify if needed,

answer clearly, and verify that your answer is well-received. Avoid providing
answers that are too long or too complex.

• Manage Challenges: Address challenges to your leadership calmly, avoid

defensiveness, and focus on solutions. Demonstrate that you value feedback
and are willing to discuss constructively
Preparing Training Materials

• Establish Training Materials: Prepare materials, including

handouts, visuals, and necessary technical equipment. Ensure that
the materials are easily accessible and understandable by the
participants.

• Use Visuals: Include visuals such as diagrams, graphs, and images

to clarify concepts and improve information retention. Visuals will
help participants remember information more easily.

• Test Equipment: Make sure all technical equipment is in good

working order. Nothing is worse than a training session interrupted
by faulty equipment.

• Practice and Rehearse: Practice speaking out loud and naturally,

using visuals and technical equipment. Practice will help you be
more confident and smoother when delivering the material.
Additional tips

● Have Fun: Participants will be more engaged and enjoy the training session if
you show enthusiasm and enjoy the process. Let your enthusiasm be
contagious to the participants!

● Take Care of Yourself: Ensure you get enough rest, eat nutritious meals, and
stay hydrated to maintain stamina. Take care of your physical and mental
health so you can deliver your best training.

● Be Honest: Be honest if you don't know the answer to a question. It's okay to
admit that you don't know something. Ask the participants for their input or
offer to find the answer later.

● Keep Growing: Continue to learn and improve your training skills. The world
of training is constantly evolving, so it’s important to stay up-to-date with the
latest trends and developments.
Conclusion :

By preparing well and implementing the right strategies, you can create a
successful training session that is beneficial to the participants.
Remember, your primary goal is to facilitate effective learning and help
participants apply their new knowledge and skills in the workplace.
