Ebike Controller
We here propose to develop and test a working ebike controller. The ebike controller will be
performing the following opera ons:
Ge ng thro le inputs
The system makes use of an STM32 controller along with a thro le input, speed sensor for
tyre speed, switch, motor driver, ebike motor, ba ery and OLED display to develop the
system. We will hereby focus on thro ling and speed display part of ebikes while developing
this controller.
The STM controller constantly monitors the thro le values. The thro le consists of a thro le
posi on sensor (TPS). Non contact type TPS work on the principle of Hall effect or induc ve
sensors, or magnetoresis ve technologies, wherein by and large the magnet or induc ve
circle is the unique part which is mounted on the bu erfly valve choke spindle/sha gear
and the sensor and sign handling circuit board is mounted inside the ETC gear box cover and
is sta onary. At the point when the magnet/induc ve circle mounted on the spindle which is
rotated from the lower mechanical stop to WOT, there is an adjustment of the magne c field
for the sensor. The adjustment of the magne c field is detected by the sensor and the
voltage created is given as the input to the ECU.
The Thro le signal is processed by the controller and it then operates the motor through
motor driver. The motor voltage is varied as per thro le values in order to control its power
and speed. Also the controller constantly monitor speed sensor values. The peed sensor
works on hall effect principle to constantly transmit the wheel RPM. This RPM value is
displayed on the LCD display by the controller. The motor speed and sensor monitoring is
turned off when the main switch s turned off. The complete process restarts as soon as the
switch is turned on. Thus we successfully develop and test our own Ebike controller using
STM32.

3. AC Power Strength Controller System
The project aims at controlling the AC power by using the concept of firing angle control of
thyristors. One can enter the required percentage of power supply through a keypad. The
input is provided to a microcontroller of 8051 family that ini ate the firing angle to adjust
the load power. For matching the power to the required one, a TRIAC is used in series with
the AC load. A LCD screen is used to display the power percentage that is provided by the
user.

6. Digitally Controlled Home Automa on Project
The project is a home automa on system that uses DTMF connec on to control the home
appliances remotely. It overcomes the limita ons of conven onal wall switches that have to
be operated by physically going near to then and switch on the bu on.
The system uses DTMF by which one can control home appliances by dialling the designated
number for par cular load. One can operate it from home phone or by making a call to
home number from outside. The system uses DTMF technology that receives commands
from phone and produces digital output which ini ates relay driver to switch ON/OFF the
load appliances. For this the system we use De-Mul plexer, flip flop IC, DTMF Decoder. This
DTMF technology allows the user to send commands to operate the appliances via a mobile
phone and avoids the use of microcontroller. In order to use this system the user has to
make a call to the mobile phone connected to this system. Once the call is received by the
mobile phone connected to the system, the user can now send commands to operate the
home appliances. For this the system makes use of lamps to demonstrate AC loads and uses
12V transformer to power the system.

7. Flexible Ac Transmi er System Using TSR
The project aims at achieving FACTS by using TSR (Thyristor Switch Reactance). It is done
when there is very low or minor load at receiving end while charging the transmission line.
Since the presence of low load, small current flows through transmission line therefore the
shunt capacitance becomes more prominent. Due to this voltage amplifica on or Ferran
Effect occurs and the voltage at receiving end increases two mes than the voltage at
sending end. For this reason to compensate, shunt inductors are automa cally connected
across the transmission line.
The project requires an opera onal amplifier that generates lead me between zero voltage
pulse and zero current pulse. This lead me is given to two interrupt pins of microcontroller
of 8051 family. The programmed microcontroller then ini ates shunt reactors for
compensa ng the voltage. SCRs arranged in series interfaced with microcontroller through
op cal isola on are used for switching reactor.
