SmartACU2000D smart array controller is a

cabinet for outdoor applications, and the
following items can be installed inside:
1. SmartLogger3000 (SmartLogger for short)
2. PID 2.0 module
3. MBUS CCO module
4. LAN switch
5. Access terminal box (ATB)
6. Power over Ethernet (PoE) power module
and PoE surge protective device (SPD)
7. 24 V power supply

The SmartACU2000D serves as the

monitoring and communication unit of a single
array.
1. It provides data processing and
communication functions. It transmits and
manages information between smart
devices, such as the transformer station,
solar inverter and AC combiner box, and
the plant monitoring system.
2. This feature effectively prevents the
potential induced degradation (PID) effect
of PV modules, thereby increasing the
energy yield and revenue of the PV plant.

bag based on the specifications of the optical modules used on the fiber channel switch.

Intra-array communication:
The solar inverter communicates with the SmartACU2000D over MBUS power line communication (PLC).
Devices such as the transformer station communicate with the SmartACU2000D over RS485.
Communication between a PV array and the central control room:
The SmartACU2000D communicates with the central control room over optical fibers.
The following need to be reserved in the transformer station:
1. One 100 V to 240 V single-phase AC power input
2. If there is only one MBUS/PID route, reserve one knife fuse switch for the LV bus of the transformer. If there are two MBUS/PID
routes, one knife fuse switch needs to be reserved for each independent bus on the LV side of the transformer.

Cable Connection

Connecting a PE cable to the cabinet

 Precautions for connecting the PE cable:

1. Prepare the PE cable and OT terminals. The PE cable is prepared by the customer. A 10 AWG to 6 AWG outdoor copper-core cable is
recommended. The OT terminal is prepared by the customer. OT-M6 is recommended. (If the cable needs to be routed through a pipe, the customer
needs to prepare a pipe.)
2. Remove the PE cable connector from the bottom of the SmartACU2000D. Route the PE cable through the pipe and PE hole in sequence. Use a wire
stripper to strip the insulation layer off the PE cable. Crimp the core wire and OT terminal tightly.
3. Remove the bolts from the ground point, secure the cable with an OT terminal, and tighten the ground screws using a socket wrench.
4. To enhance the corrosion resistance of the ground terminal, you are advised to apply silica gel or paint on it after connecting the PE cable.

Maintenance – Replacing a Single-Phase or Three-Phase SPD

 Note
 An SPD consists of a surge protection module
and a base.
 If an SPD is damaged or its indication window
is displayed in red, the SPD is deemed
unavailable and needs to be replaced.
 A single-phase SPD is replaced in the same
way as a three-phase SPD. This section
describes how to replace a single-phase SPD.

 Replacement Procedure
 Remove the faulty surge protection module
from the SPD.
 Install a new surge protection module.

31

Maintenance – Replacing an MBUS CCO Module

 Note
 Before replacement, turn off the single-phase power
switch and knife fuse switch in the SmartACU2000D,
and then turn off the upstream single-phase power
switch and the MBUS/PID three-phase power switch.
Use a multimeter to check that the single-phase input
and three-phase input in the SmartACU2000D have
no voltages. The check purpose is to ensure that the
SmartACU2000D is completely powered off and the
personal safety will not be in danger.
 After disconnecting the power supply, wait at least 3
min before replacing the MBUS CCO module.
 After replacement, turn on the upstream single-phase
power switch in the SmartACU2000D and the
MBUS/PID three-phase power switch, and then turn
on the single-phase power switch and knife fuse
switch to ensure that the system works properly.

 Replacement Procedure
 Disconnect cables from the SmartMBUS CCO module, and
label the cables.
 Remove the faulty SmartMBUS CCO module and its
mounting ears.
 Install the mounting ears on a new SmartMBUS CCO module.
 Install the new SmartMBUS CCO module.
 Connect the cables based on their labels.
