Alva's Education Foundation (AEF) established in 1995 with the vision of our Chairman Dr. M.
Mohan Alva has succeeded in making Moodbidri an Educational hub in the South Canara
Region, with 25000 students pursuing various courses ranging from primary to post-graduate
courses in social sciences, pure sciences, engineering and management. AEF as become the
center of learning for the entire state of Karnataka. There are 21 institutes functioning under
the AEF banner. AEF also has students from countries like Srilanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Sudan,
Switzerland etc. The commitment of AEF towards the society is evident from the level and
quality of infrastructure created for the purpose of imparting traditional as well contemporary

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Department was inducted into AIET formally during 2020-21 with an
intake of 60 students per year. AI & ML, itself is a broad technological ecosystem in the engineering world of academics
and research leading to interdisciplinary innovations. Though a fascinating course relatable to real world innovations of
the AI realm viz., Amazon's Alexa, Google assistant, Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana etc. by the young minds, there is a
serious effort made by the department to dwell upon the foundations of the AI & ML course.

MEMS is the process technology used to create timing integrated devices

or systems that combine mechanical and electrical components. They
MEMS LAB are fabricated using integrated circuits(IC) batch processing techniques
and can range in size from a few micrometers to millimeters. Students of
our college has carried out different projects in MEMS lab like antenna,
co-axial cable & Electric Sensor design. This lab comprises of 20 high-end
computers with coventerware and Comsolsoftwares.
MEMS Lab at AIET, is a state of the art research laboratory which enables
our students and faculties to design and analyze MEMS based models.
MEMS, a niche area with applications in variety of engineering fields
such as aerospace, mechanical, electrical, communications and this lab
facilitates the students to carry out research activities by designing and
modelling various types sensors and actuators. The lab provides a great
and unique platform for students to work in the field of MEMS which in
turn helps them to publish technical papers in reputed journals and
conferences. To add credits to the lab, the research scholars have
published patents in emerging topics and need of the hour like hydrogen
fuel cells.

Kumamoto University is a Japanese national university located in Kumamoto, Kumamoto Prefecture In The Kyushu Region Of
Japan. Currently, the university has seven faculties and eight graduate schools with a total of around 10,000 Japanese students and 400
international students.
Nine students of our institute along with professor Dr Satyanarayan visited Kumamoto University, Japan for a week's educational
program from 28th January to 4th February, 2018 on the invitation of the Government of Japan under the Japan-Asia Youth Exchange
Program in Science, known as the “SAKURA Exchange Program in Science”. The Government of Japan has granted a sum of about Rs 35

Bhuvan Panchayat Project

ISRO/NRSC, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat and AIET (Alva's Institute of Engineering
and Technology) have come forward for an MOU, to map the assets like Civic Amenities/
Infrastructure, Governance Assets, Human and Livestock Resource Assets, natural resources
Assets and Productive Assets of all the Gram Panchayat's of Mangaluru Taluk.
AIET is one among the ten (10) colleges in India associated with ISRO for Bhuvan
Panchayat Project. This initiative will help to map all the available assets in all Gram
Panchayat's of Mangaluru Taluk, which will help in meticulous planning of the Gram
Panchayat in future.
This project is looking at the growing need and to fulfil the gap of spatial data at
panchayat level, NRSC/ISRO conceptualized and realised this project to empower Panchayati
Raj Institutions (PRIs) and stake holders for spatial, participatory, integrated decentralized

Our Country dreams it has a great level of accomplishing, Rocketing the dreams of common man. Space Technology has been converted
into a bread technology for the poor through innovative milestone of ISRO over last decades. We are happy that Alva's Education
Foundation got an opportunity to work with ISRO in expanding its mission of reaching the needy and unreached. The project NAVIC
has been tendered for its practical and socio-cultural feasibility through the associated work of Alva's Education Foundation and ISRO.
The report is a logical conclusion of the interaction & Technical dialogue undertaken with 420 fishermen communities of Coastal areas
of Karnataka. This report embodies Socio-Cultural and Technical feasibility of using NAVIC and comparison of other devices for
enriching the life of Common Fishermen.

Automatic Weather Stations (AWS)

Measures parameters at ground level like; - Ambient temperature, Atmospheric pressure, Relative humidity, Wind direction, Wind
speed, Sun shine duration and Rainfall.
Automatically records, updates at regular Intervals and transmits data to the satellite. The weather information collected through AWS
could also be disseminated through the Village Resources Centers, being set up by ISRO in cooperation with NGOs and other agencies.

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Receiver Network

Satellite-based navigation systems use a version of triangulation to locate the user, through calculations involving information from
a number of satellites. Each satellite transmits coded signals at precise intervals. The receiver converts signal information into position,
velocity, and time estimates. Using this information, any receiver on or near the earth's surface can calculate the exact position of the
transmitting satellite and the distance (from the transmission time delay) between it and the receiver. Coordinating current signal data
from four or more satellites enables the receiver to determine its position. The data can be used for military civilian and science
applications. AIET is first Engineering College in VTU, where NARL-ISRO sanctioned and installed the GNSS Receiver Network station.

The department of training and placements along with senior professors facilitates students with internship

into career path. AIET has signed MOUs with reputed government & private organisations which provides

To have a strong base in English – Alva’s has tied up with Cambridge
English to give that sound and solid base to the students when it
comes to written and spoken English. Alva's Education Foundation
has been awarded as one of top 25 preparation centres in South Asia
by Cambridge English Assessment for Higher Education.

Our students won the overall championship in 21st intercollegiate youth festival held at BMS college of
Engineering, Bangalore for the academic year 2020-21.

Alva's Virasat
Alva's Virasat, an internationally acclaimed cultural spectacle, showcasing known and unknown facets of Indian classical
cultural and musical performance. This programme attracts more than 40 thousand audience from various parts of the
country and adherent fans from countries like Germany, Japan, Switzerland, USA, UK etc. The event is held every January
since 1992. The performance during the Virasat comprises of classical music concerts, variety of classical & folk dance
performance, music fusion and contemporary music. A number of artists of National and International repute from different
parts of India and the world are invited for performing such components which overwhelm the entire spectrum of the art
forms both classical and folk. It is a strong conviction of Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman, Alva's Education Foundation, that the
classical art forms can entertain and educate the youth, systematically enabling them to develop a better taste and attitude to
life.

Alva's Nudisiri
Karnataka is a rich land with a collage of multiple cultural and literary itineraries. Nudisiri is Dr. M. Mohan Alva's attempt at
selecting a few of them each year to be displayed to a large section of audience who are fast losing touch with their
motherland. It provides a platform to invite the writers and other artists, activists to present papers, discuss and share their
views and to educate the lovers of Kannada literature.

The number of delegates attending this function is increasing every year. Alva's Education Foundation arranges free board
and accommodation to all the delegates. The eminent scholars are invited to articulate on contemporary areas. The
celebration is clubbed with book exhibition, cultural activities, local Yakshagana enactments and theatre performances. It has
been achieving a great popularity in the golden realm of Kannada literature and culture.
