INSTRUCTIONS.
This paper consists of two sections, A and B
Attempt all Questions in section A and Any 5 from section B.
Each question in section A carries 5 marks while each Question in section B carries 12 marks
SECTION A
1. The roots of a quadratic equation x 2+ ( 7+ p ) x+ p=0 are ∝ and β . Given that the roots differ by
5, find the possible values of p. (5 marks)

i) Each team should have at least 3 boys and a girl
ii) Each team contains at most 3 girls. (5 marks)

6. Using Row Echelon reduction to solve the following equations simultaneously

7. Differentiate y=tan x from first principles. (5 marks)
