In this lab, you will learn how to use Export to Studio 5000 functionality in IAB.
Export to Studio 5000 functionality in IAB feature helps the user to save design time
and improves time to market.

3. Select File→Start Page→ Sample Project in the Quick Start dialog box.

5. If you notice the warning message below, Save the project in your desired location.
Note: Once you save the file in your desired location, double click and open the project
from that location to proceed further
6. Click Hardware View and notice the devices connected in this project.

1. Navigate to Advanced Communication Details Interface and notice the I/O devices-
1756 I/O modules, 5069 Compact/IO, ArmorBlock I/O modules, Kinetix 5700 ,1734-
AENTR are assigned to ControlLogix 5580 Controller (highlighted in yellow)
Note: Only, the devices with Add-On Profile (AOP) and assigned to controller in
Advanced Communication Details Interface will be successfully exported to
Studio 5000.
2. PanelView Plus 7 will not be exported in Studio 5000 as HMI devices with only Class 3
Connections are not part of the Export to Studio 5000.

2. There are several informational dialogs or logs that are displayed/created to help you
identify Devices that have experienced problems. It is recommended to visit the
Advanced Communication Details Interface and assign the devices to the ControlLogix
5580 Controller if it was missed earlier.

3. Select the controller that you wish to export to Studio 5000. This project has one
ControlLogix 5580 Controller as listed below. If your project has multiple controllers, then
each controller will be having individual L5x files
Note: During the import process, if you specify lower than Version 35 of Studio 5000
Logix Designer, it may result in some modules not being exported.
4. Click Help button which opens Studio 5000 Export Help file. Refer the Export
Assumptions section for details.

5. The Export to Studio 5000 is complete and the export and log files are stored in location
highlighted below.
6. Click View Files to view the IAB, export and log files.

7. It is important to review the Controller log files to understand the reason why a Device
may not have been exported.
Note: In the event some devices were not exported, it is important to review the Controller log
files to understand the reason why a Device may not have been exported.

9. Save the project imported in your desired location. The export is based upon testing
from Studio 5000 Version 35 (latest version). Click Import…
10. All the devices from IAB are now exported in Studio 5000

1. Select PlantPAx System Estimator in Sample Project and select PlantPAx Small
System project.

5. The Export to Studio 5000 is complete. Open the Log file to understand about the
devices which will be successfully exported.

Note: There are multiple .L5X files created as this sample project includes four 5580
Process Controllers
