I. Router Configuration
1. Reset the router (press the reset button of the router for about 15 sec.)

DCHP by Clicking the check box (uncheck the box)

4. Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard (dcpromo.exe).

III. DHCP - (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)


1. Server Manager, right click on Roles, Add roles, Next, DHCP Server, Next, Next.
2. Select Network Connection Bindings, Next
3. Specify IPv4 DNS Server Settings
a. Parent domain
b. Preferred DNS Server IPv4 address (IP address ng server), Validate, Next
4. WINS is not required… Next
5. Add or Edit DHCP Scopes, Add
6. Now you need to:
a. Give your scope a name – “LAN_DHCP1”
b. Enter the first address that you want available to clients to use (do not use the server
IP address) – 192.168._.2
c. Enter the last address that you want available to clients to use – 192.168._.3
d. Enter the subnet mask (usually 255.255.255.0)
e. Enter the IP address of your default gateway (your router IP address .254)
7. Subnet , Activate this scope
8. Once you have clicked on OK, you can click next 4 times to get to the confirmation screen
where you can finally click install.
9. Once the installation is complete your DHCP will be functioning, and you can start
managing your DHCP server right away.

IV. CREATE USER

Clients – Desktop and Laptop – enable network, ctrl Pause + Break (Computer
Properties), Change, Domain, type Domain Name (Ex. Glen.c)

- Open the computer and check your mapped folder if it appears as
another drive

IX. Remote Desktop Connection


Computer Properties, Remote Settings, Allow remote connection to this computer

1. Search “Remote desktop”, Remote Desktop connection, type “IP Address” of the
computer you want to connect to, Yes, OK

X. Printing

1. Install Printer in your Server PC


- if there is no physical printer present, just use com1 as printer port
NOTE: If there is a physics printer, attach the printer to the USB port of your computer,
change the printer port to “USB Virtual Printer port for ….“

4. Client – type the following info in Notepad or MS Word, print and submit
• Your full name
• Name of training institution
• Date of assessment
• Place of assessment
• Server IP Address (192.168._.1)
• Desktop IP Address (192.168._.2)
• Laptop IP Address (192.168._.3)
• Wi-Fi SSID and Password
