COURSE DESCRIPTION
Introduction:
This course is designed to introduce students to Dreamweaver web authoring tool and its features as
well as PHP programming and MySQL database.
Purpose:
The aim of this course is to equip students with foundational skills in web database application
development using Dreamweaver, VS Code, PHP, and MySQL. By the end of the course, students will
be able to design, develop and deploy dynamic we applications that interact with databases.
Learning objectives:
1. Understand how to set up and manage websites using Dreamweaver.
2. Write PHP codes to create dynamic web pages.
3. Integrate PHP with HTML for enhanced web functionality.
4. Create and manage databases using My SQL.
5. Understand basic SQL queries and how to integrate MySQL with PHP.

LECTURE SCHEDULE
Introduction to Dreamweaver and its features
Introduction to Dreamweaver IDE, defining a site, accessing the code directly, working with
text, setting up tables, inserting images, establishing web links, interactive forms, creating
lists, using special characters. Working with behaviors, inserting flash, inserting flash
buttons, adding video and audio to web page
A concise explanation of the Dreamweaver IDE is given by demonstrating to the class, the
function of each component.
The Xampp server environment is also explored.
Students are guided on how to define a site in Dreamweaver and create a basic page.
PHP scripting language is introduced to help create dynamic webpages in the Dreamweaver
IDE and VS Code
The class is concluded by creating a database using MySQL and integrating with PHP

Attendance is mandatory. Students must attend a minimum of six classes before the quiz week to be
eligible to attempt the quiz.
Students must always come to class well dressed and with a functioning laptop or mobile device
and participate actively in class activities.
Late coming to class an hour after the commencement of lecture will not be condoned!
Noise making, receiving, or making of phone calls or disruption in any form is highly prohibited during
lecture sessions. All mobile devices must be muted or switched off during teaching and learning
sessions.
Your performance on the exam, quiz and project should reflect your effort not that of others,
however, it is acceptable to work in groups during class activities.
Finally, only students who officially registered for the course on KWASU portal will have their
grades recorded.
