4. Personal Protective Equipment:
1. LT-SOOT RELEASE is usually slug dosed to the exhaust trunk using a dosing pot
(e.g., LT-SOOT RELEASE dosing unit.) It is generally used daily at the rate of 1 kg for every
400-500 m2 of surface area to be treated.
2. Variations in engine load, boiler design, heating surface configurations, and the amount of
deposits may alter the dosage rate. For vessels with exhaust gas temperatures below 250°C, it is
recommended that the dosage rate be increased 1.5 kg/day for every 400-500 m2 of surface area.
3. Exhaust Gas Economizer System: LT-SOOT RELEASE is injected just prior to the exhaust gas
economizer inlet beyond the bypass damper. However, dosing can take place anywhere in the
system depending on where fouling is a problem. In instances where the air stream is too fast
to develop sufficient contact time, it may be necessary to partially bypass the economizer or slow
the engine to half speed or less during dosing in order to achieve maximum product performance.
4. Oil Fired Boiler System: Due to variations in design and equipment, contact your local Drew
Marine Representative for specific instructions.
5. For additional information, refer to the product data sheet for this product or contact your Drew
Marine Representative.
