Worksheet - 5

Student Name: Keshav Kumar UID 23MCA20462

Branch: MCA Section/Group: MCA-8A
Semester: 4th DOP: 25-Feb-2025
Subject Name: NETWORK SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION Subject Code: 23CAH-753

AIM: - To configure IPv4 subnetting in Cisco Packet Tracer using 1 router, 2 switches, and 6 PCs.

Required Components:-

• 1 Cisco 2911 Routers

• 2 Cisco 2960 Switches
• 6 PCs
• Straight-through Ethernet cables
• Packet Tracer software

Implementation Steps
Step 1: Add Devices and Connect Them
1. Open Cisco Packet Tracer using one 2911 routers and drag two 2960 switches into the
workspace.
2. Add six PCs and name them PC0 to PC5.
3. Use Ethernet cables to connect:
· Router (GigabitEthernet0/0) → Switch1
· Router (GigabitEthernet0/1) → Switch2
· PC0, PC1, PC2 → Switch1
· PC3, PC4, PC5 → Switch2
· Switch1 and Switch2 via trunk link

Step 2: IP Addressing Scheme:

1. Given Network: 192.168.10.1/25

2. Subnet Mask Used: 255.255.255.128 (/25)
3. Subnetting Calculation:
1. Subnet 1 (Switch1 & PCs 0-2): 192.168.10.4/25
2. Subnet 2 (Switch2 & PCs 3-5): 192.168.10.132/25
3. Usable IPs per Subnet: 30
4. Subnet Gateway (Router IPs):
1. For Switch1: 192.168.10.1
2. For Switch2: 192.168.10.129
IPv4 Subnetting mask using pc0 and pc3:-

Packet tracer: -
Pinging: -

Note: - we can ping for all the PCs as the same process

Learning Outcomes:-
⚫ Subnetted a network using IPv4 /25 subnet mask.
⚫ Configured a router for inter-subnet communication.
⚫ Assigned IP addresses correctly to PCs and switches.
⚫ Tested network connectivity using ping commands.
