a. (142)(235)(2356)−1
b. ((16)(235)(1243)
2) Is the statement [(𝑝 → 𝑞) ∧ ¬𝑝] → ¬ 𝑞 a tautology? Show your work. (3 pts)
3) Is the statement ((𝑟 → 𝑞) ∧ (𝑟 → 𝑝)) → (𝑞 ∨ 𝑝) a rule of inference? Justify your answer. (3 pts)
4) Show without using truth tables that 𝑝 ∨ 𝑞 ≡ ¬𝑝 → 𝑞 (3 pts)
5) Draw the logic gate for the negation of the statement: it is not the case that if the car is red, then it the
dog will not bark (3 pts)
6) Use the truth table to determine if the following statements are logically equivalent: ‘The boy is
smart and an IT student’ and ‘It is not the case that if the boy is an IT student then he is not smart’.
