ASSIGNMENT QUESTION:
Write an essay in which you critically discuss the future of work in the light of major
social and technical changes in the contemporary world of work. In your essay, pay
special attention to the following:
(a) The essential details of the technical and technological developments and how
they are changing the way work is organized.
(b) The proliferation of precarious forms of work and other challenges emanating
from the new technological regimes being implemented.
(c) An evaluation of how trade unions have responded to these challenges and
legislative changes in the South African context.
(d) Reflections on the future of work in the light of ALL these developments.
