Q.1 Solve the following

1. Determine real values of a so that the system of equations have non-trivial solution

Draw the graph of above equations for this value of a using any free online graphical
software and show the solution graphically.

2 The flow of cars passing per hour is mentioned in the following network. Find the flow pattern
by modelling it as the system of linear equations.

Further find the solution if x4  200 / hr , x6  300 / hr and x7  100 / hr .


3 The number of vehicles per hour passing on roads is represented in
the following network streets.
• Set up a mathematical model associated with the network.
• Solve the model completely.
• Find the number of vehicles per hour passing on roads.
• What is/are the constrain on parameter/parameters so that the network will be
balanced?

NOTE:: k is the sum of digits of your Roll Number. (e.g. RN is 48 then k = 12 )
