Lesson Plan in Basic Accounting

Form of Business Organization/Ownership


January 10, 2020

I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, student must be able to:


1. Understand the business owner objectives,
2. Identify the three main forms of business organization,
3. Differentiate the advantage and disadvantages of the three main forms
of business organization in a market economy.

II. Subject Matter: Topic: The Three Main Forms of Organization

Materials: Illustration, Laptop, Visual Aids and Projector

III. Learning Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activities:
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Classroom Standards
5. Review of the previous lesson
6. Presentation of learning objectives to be read by the students.

B.1. Motivation

If you are the man standing in front of the door having a bag full of
money, which door will you choose?

Unlocking difficult words:


1. Sole Proprietorship - this kind of business is owned by a single owner.
2. Partnership - this kind of business owned and operated by partners of
two to four individuals.
3. Corporation - it is basically formed when five to fifteen (5-15)
people decide to go into business.

B.2 - Activity (Hula Hula-an)


Mechanics:
1. The teacher divide the class into three (3) groups.
2. Every group will identify the the logos and pictures that being flash on
the screen if it is under sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation.
3. The group will be given 5 minutes to do the activity.
B.3 - Analysis:
1. Representative of every group will present their group output.
2. The representative will identify and discuss to the class which pictures
or logos are the sole proprietorship, partnership and cooperative.

B.4 - Abstraction:
1. The teacher will give some additional input about the three forms of
organization.
2. Ask the student what they have learned from the lesson.

B.5 - Application:
Raise your thumbs up icon if the statement is true and raise your
thumbs down icon if the statement is false.
1. In proprietorship owner makes all the decisions.
2. Corporation is separate from its owner.
3. In partnership, there is joint undertaking to share.
4. Corporation is also called individual ownership.
5. Corpoaration has limited liabilities.

IV. Evaluation:

Direction: Give the correct answer . Write the answer in ¼ sheet of paper.

1 What form of business ownership has the powers, attributes, and


properties expressly authorized by law or incident to its existence.
2 What form of business ownership that business risk are shared many
people.
3 Give at least one advantage of sole proprietorship.
4 Give at least one disadvantage of partnership
5 Give at least one advantage of corporation

V. Assignment:
Research about the different proprietorship, partnership and corporation
business in your community. List them in your notebook.
