AVERAGE:
An ice cream shop owner stated that during rainy days, the shop loses around 3,000 but during
summer, it gains around 5,000. If the probability of raining is 25%, what is the expected value?

Answer: 3, 000

DIFFICULT:
All vehicles for registration in the Philippines are required to pay the tax value. The value depends on the
model of the car. The mean and standard deviation of the tax value of Dan’s car are = 541,000 pesos
and = 167,200 pesos respectively. Suppose random sample size 100,000 are drawn from the population
of vehicles. What are the mean, variance and standard deviationof the sample mean?

Answer: Mean= 541,000


Variance= 279,558.4
Standard Deviation= 528.73
