This essay explains the path into Digital Media Communications and why your help
will land me that future job in Digital Media Communications. My First camera, a
canon 60D with full HD movie recording, Creative filters that give you creative
control on jpeg and raw images, iso ranges and multiple lenses providing the
technical controls and the work ethic to capture the best images. But this camera
had a catch. I was young, eager to snapshot the blackbird joker nightclub scene
wherever the party was and maintain a photo album with a web address “a
promotional blog”. Club flyer promotions weeks in advance, Home Page offering
followers an after party interactive connection, where they would be able to share
pictures on all social media platforms and comment on the blog. The blog detain 700
hits in one day. And a video page where followers could play full HD recording
videos, and another way of keeping busy while maintaining a calendar style log of
web addresses.

The experience reached a full year, recording videos, posting photo albums,
maintaining the amount of traffic. Web Traffic proposed to be my biggest hurdle. I
wanted more traffic and the access was limited. Only so many friends you can have
till your spending more time in places you shouldn’t. Lucky for me I wanted more
creativity in my llife.

It was 2011, I still had the motivation to learn and continue pursuing video
production, my photos weren’t that personal seamless creative flow of instagrams.
Followers wanted new ideas, livestreams, creative graphics. So the student loan
applications began, summer slump transcript request delays. Netflix subscriptions.

Film production guided me through the basics my skills were lacking. Editing classes
with tutorial videos, expert blog knowledge and group projects. Digital
Cinematography classes enhance my lighting knowledge and videos were reflecting
that personalized style. Writing classes added a confidence to my writing style,
grammatical writing sat in the upper deck, and a technical script style writing was
easier than writing Shakespeare at the time. I completed with my group four films.
When I first start off I tend to hold in ideas inside, you could guess pre-production
wasn’t my strongest at first. Behind the lens took most of my creativity. I needed to
know how the shot was made, or was it the correct follow up shot. Back of my mind
planning the depth, would that be executed properly, are my blacks rich, and is my
white balance temperature correct. Thankfully I had a laptop full of tips and tricks
blogs bookmarked a technique I still apply at my current position.

FIU Digital communication school is that next step towards a better digital
opportunity. If its independent projects with limited funding or full time job related
tasks expanding my multimedia skills. With your help this expedition to complete
my Bachelors will make this dream a reality.
