This document lists abend codes issued by CICS when exceptional conditions occur that are not handled by the application program. The codes are grouped by condition and begin with a 2 character prefix followed by a number. Conditions include errors, end of data, duplicate records, invalid requests, I/O errors and more. ABEND CODES : ABMG : Requested BMS service not included at system generation ABMP : PA/PF key not defined for page retrieval AEY7 : Resource security check failed AEY9 : Unsupported command issued AICA : Transaction abended as a runaway task AKCS : Deadlock time-out encountered ASRA : ABEND due to program interruption

ASRB : ABEND due to OS ABEND intercepted by CICS

CICS ABEND CODES: The EXEC interface program issues an abend when an exceptional condition has occurred but the command does not have the RESP option (or NOHANDLE option), or the application program has not executed an EXEC CICS HANDLE CONDITION command for that condition. This will cause DFHEIP to take the system action for the condition in question. In most cases, the system action will be to abend the transaction. Because of their similar characteristics, the above-named abend codes for the EXEC interface program are described as a group. The codes and their corresponding exceptional conditions are as follows:
