SLG Fault Analysis Fixed

The document outlines the solution for a Single Line-to-Ground (SLG) fault at Bus A, detailing base values and per-unit system calculations for various components including cables, transformers, and a generator. It presents fault current calculations under different neutral conditions: isolated, solidly grounded, and a specific impedance value, resulting in fault currents of 0 A, 2.91 kA, and 1.26 kA respectively. A summary table consolidates the results for easy reference.

Solution for Single Line-to-Ground (SLG) Fault at Bus A

1. Base Values and Per-Unit System

------------------------------------
- Base Power (Sb): 100 MVA
- Base Voltage (Vb): 110 kV
- Base Impedance (Zb): Zb = (Vb^2) / Sb = (110 x 10^3)^2 / (100 x 10^6) = 121
Ohm

2. Per-Unit Impedances
----------------------
Cables (10 km):
- Positive/Negative Sequence:
Z1 = Z2 = j0.12 Ohm/km x 10 km = j1.2 Ohm -> j1.2 / 121 = j0.0099 pu
- Zero Sequence:
Z0 = j0.18 Ohm/km x 10 km = j1.8 Ohm -> j1.8 / 121 = j0.0149 pu

Transformer Tr1 (160 MVA):

- Positive Sequence:
Z1_Tr1 = 14.2 percent * (100 / 160) = j0.0888 pu
- Zero Sequence:
Z0_Tr1 = 6.7 percent * (100 / 160) = j0.0419 pu

Transformer Tr2 (60 MVA):

- Positive/Zero Sequence:
Z1_Tr2 = Z0_Tr2 = 14.5 percent * (100 / 60) = j0.2417 pu

Generator (60 MVA):

- Subtransient Reactance:
Xd'' = 0.2 * (100 / 60) = j0.3333 pu
- Zero Sequence (Estimated):
X0 approx 0.5Xd'' = j0.1667 pu

System (Infinite Bus, Ssc = 4500 MVA):

- Positive/Negative Sequence:
Z1 = Z2 = (100 / 4500) = j0.0222 pu
- Zero Sequence:
Z0 = Infinity

3. Fault Current Calculations

------------------------------
Case (a): Xn to Infinity (Isolated Neutral)
- Zero-sequence path is open (Z0 to Infinity):
If = 0 A

Case (b): Xn = 0 (Solidly Grounded)

- Zero-sequence impedance: Z0 = j0.2985 pu
- Fault current: If = -j5.55 pu
- If = 2.91 kA

Case (c): Xn = 45.65 Ohm

- If = 1.26 kA

Summary of Results:
| Case | Neutral Condition | Fault Current (If) |
|------|-------------------|-------------------|
| (a) | Isolated |0A |
| (b) | Solidly grounded | 2.91 kA |
| (c) | Xn = 45.65 Ohm | 1.26 kA |
