SAP tables for Classes and Characteristics

TCLA – Class types with their meaning and further information

KLAH – Classes

Class type:
023 – for Batch classes
001 – for other classes, for auto naming and other analytics
Each class has its own key, this is the Int Class No, Class 10816000000 = Int Class No 1698:

SWOR – Class description

Here you can see all classes by Int Class No and Class description on ALL languages:
KSML - Characteristics of a Class

Here you can see classes by IntClassNo and characterists by Internal char.no.:

CAWNT – Value text for Characteristics (Description)

Here you can see Values on ALL languages present for each value:
CAWN – Characteristic values (Technical name – value)

AUSP - Characteristic Values for Materials (KSSKAUSP)

Here you can see Materials, Characteristics of Material by Internal char.no. and
Characteristic Value.
How to mapp characteristics values with values description:

KSSK – Classes for Materials

Here you can see Materials and their Classes by IntClassNo:


CABN – Characteristics

Table to find all the mandatory characteristics assigned on classes. Needed field – ATERF
(Entry Required) + You can track last date of change for each specific characteristic
One can change Entry Required field in mass way. TCODE MASS

CABNT – Characteristic Descriptions

In some cases technical name = char. description


How to combine Characteristic Values (CAWN) and their Descriptions (CAWNT)

1) Download CAWN and CAWNT separately (Think ahead about not needed classes)
2) Create a consolidated columns for each table by combining Internal char no. and Int
counter values (ATZHL)
3) Create a new list by taking CAWN table:

4) Use VLookup (ВПР) to combine Value description with Characteristic Value


5) Transfer all the needed columns to the final list on new excel sheet:

Primary table – KSSKAUSP

 Internal characteristics for custom classes (and custom classes) are excluded
 To add EN and HR values description as a separate columns
 To add Material description
How to find batch classes assigned on materials

INOB – assigned batch (023) classes on materials

 If you search for 023 classes using KSSK – materials will be encrypted (using the
Internal object number)
 Therefore, one should mapp (ВПР) KSSK and INOB tables to find the exact batch class
assigned on material
Refinement to specific fields in a classification

 Check box "Additional Values" - allows you to add other values then the ones
specified in the values tab of the characteristic

If this indicator is not selected and you are trying to add any value outside of the scope of
allowed values, the following error will occur:

Procedure for Value Assignment:


 "Not Ready for Input" - this indicator determines whether the characteristic is shown
as available for entry on the characteristic value assignment. If you do not want a
value to be assigned to a characteristic, you must select this indicator. For example,
the value may be inferred fom object dependencies

 "No Display" - the characteristic is not shown on the characteristic value assignment
screen
You see the Hidden characteristics pushbutton on the characteristic value assignment screen

 "Display Allowed Values" - Determines whether the allowed values for a


characteristic are displayed after the characteristic when you assign values to a
characteristic

 "Case Sensitive" - determines whether lower-case letters can be entered in


characteristic values. If this field is blank, the characteristic values entered are
automatically converted into upper-case letters

 You can't delete characteristics from a class if:


1. You have an assigned hierarchy for this class
2. At least one value from the allowed list of that characteristic is assigned on
material

How to delete a characteristic and all its values from a class objects allocated to it
Transaction - SE38 / or use tcode CL6K (for direct change)
Program - RMCLMDEL + click execute (F8)
