Open Strings When you play a string without using any fingers of
your left hand, we call that an "open string."

to make different pitches on the D string.

Start by pretending to hold an empty water

¨ Key signatures (The sharps signs at the beginning of the line). What do they mean?
¨ String crossings (switching from one string to another).
