Read through the following options carefully and ensure that you select ONE option on which
you will complete the assignment.

Option A:

1. In a well-structured essay of between 1000 and 1500 words, critically discuss how you
can use media effectively in your classroom. Explore your understanding of media use
and its role in learning and teaching. Use detailed examples from your teaching practice
to illustrate the effective integration of media in your subject area. You are to provide a
title for your essay that captures your discussion.
Cite a minimum of five (5) scholarly articles. Ensure accurate in-text citations and a
complete reference list (not included in the word count). (30)

2. Design a questionnaire to determine first-year students' high school experiences of how


media was used by their teachers during their studies. Your questionnaire should be well-
structured, include various question types (e.g., Likert scale, multiple choice, open-
ended), and be designed to gather insightful data relevant to your topic. (20)

1. In a well-structured essay of between 1000 and 1500 words, critically discuss your role
as a teacher in developing your learners' academic language proficiency. In your
discussion, present a comprehensive understanding of academic language proficiency
and whether this links to academic success. Support your discussion with specific
examples from your teaching experience and scholarly references. You are to provide a
title for your essay that captures your discussion.
Cite a minimum of five (5) scholarly articles. Ensure accurate in-text citations and a
complete reference list (not included in the word count). (30)

2. Design a questionnaire to gather the experiences of first-year students regarding


academic language proficiency at university. Your questionnaire should be well-
structured, include various question types (e.g., Likert scale, multiple choice, open-
ended), and be designed to gather insightful data relevant to your topic. (20)
