Exercise 1 - Verify a System’s Requirements for

Application Installation
Applications are developed to function using specific hardware requirements.
These hardware requirements include the system's architecture, either 32-bit or
64-bit. Additional hardware requirements include the amount of RAM and
storage space for the application.

In this exercise, hardware and software specifications for the system will be
identified to verify if an application can be installed.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this exercise, you should be able to:

Exercise 2 - Different Application Installation

Methods
With the evolution of technology, the way that applications are installed has also
evolved. In the past, applications were installed using physical media, for
example, compact discs. With the accessibility of the internet, the need for
physical media has decreased, and the installation files for applications can
easily be downloaded for installation of the application.

Different types of installation file formats are available. These include the
following:

ISO media
MSI File format

In this exercise, the different types of application installation file formats will be
explored.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this exercise, you should be able to:

Perform ISO Application Installation Method

Exercise 3 - Additional System Considerations for

Application Installation
When an application is installed on a device, it needs to consider what impact
the application will have on the device.

In this exercise, additional considerations for the impact of the application will
be discussed.

Learning Outcomes
After completing this exercise, you should have further knowledge of:

Application’s Impact on the Device

Network Impact of the Application Installation
Business Impact of the Application

Your Devices
This exercise contains supporting materials for A+ (220-1102).

Application’s Impact on the Device

Before the application is installed, the application manufacturer's
recommendation for the application needs to be reviewed to ensure the
implication on the device. This might include increased memory and storage
consumption.

Network Impact of the Application Installation

The installation might impact the network traffic. Depending on the use of the
application, it could cause an increase in network traffic, affecting other
applications or services on the network.

Business Impact of the Application

Installing a new application might require that staff need additional training to
use the application, which could affect productivity. Careful consideration needs
to be taken when implementing new applications.

Keep all devices that you have powered on in their current state and
proceed to the review section.
