 2.Poject Overview

 Title: Automatic Car Parking System

 Project Description:
 The automatic car parking system is designed to efficiently
manage parking spaces using an Arduino Uno microcontroller.
Infrared (IR) sensors are strategically placed at the entry, exit, and
each parking slot to detect vehicle movement and occupancy.
 When a vehicle approaches the entry gate, the IR sensor sends a
signal to the Arduino, which processes it and commands the servo
motor to open the gate. Once the vehicle enters, the gate
automatically closes. Similarly, at the exit gate, an IR sensor
detects vehicles leaving and operates the servo motor to manage
the gate accordingly.
 Inside the parking lot, IR sensors monitor each slot to determine
whether it is occupied or vacant. The Arduino gathers this data
and updates the LCD display, which provides real-time information
about the availability of parking slots.
 This system streamlines the parking process by automating gate
control and reducing manual intervention. Additionally, it
improves user experience by allowing drivers to easily locate
vacant slots through the LCD display, ensuring efficient space
utilization and smooth traffic flow within the parking area.

 Motivation: People facing problem to find empty slots in parking and

it waste time.

 Idea: Solving parking locating problem by display and

Arduino Uno circuit. It give the slots location on entry gate in display by
showing slots number.

 Flowchart:

 Programming language and platform:-

 Variant of C++
 Arduino IDE
 Application :
 This project is essentially targeted towards public places like
malls, offices and places where crowds gather in a lrage
number, which causes a ruckus in parking, with an automated parking
system, anyone entering will directly get which slot is
available, hence, reducing the time and effort to find an available
slot, which also causes people to cause jams in the parking slots, this
also eliminates the need of additional human intervention because
everything is managed automatically by sensors and controllers, for
efficient and easier handling.

4.Comparative Analysis:
 Comparison with Large-Scale/Existing Systems:
 Our prototype is a simplified version of large-scale automated
parking systems used in commercial facilities.

 Technology and Sensors

 Existing Systems: Use advanced sensors like ultrasonic or AI-

powered cameras.

 Our System: Utilizes cost-effective IR sensors, offering basic but

reliable functionality.

 System Complexity

 Existing Systems: Feature cloud integration, mobile apps, and

multi-level parking management.

 Our System: Focuses on essential functions like gate control,

vehicle detection, and slot availability display.
