Aims
The course provides an introduction to computer networks through a detailed discussion of the
protocol stack. The course takes top-down approach starting with the application layer,
followed by transport, network, and data link layers. Fundamental topics such as TCP/IP
protocols, subnetting, DNS, VLANs, and wireless networking and discussed in details.
Practical applications of these topics are also introduced to the students.
