This guide will help coaches, consultants, and agencies book sales calls for high-
ticket products or services using social media direct messages. It’s based on the
Problem-Cost-Offer (PCO) framework and the Phantom Offer technique.

What is a Phantom Offer?

ú A Phantom Offer is a post about a potential product or service that


doesn’t exist yet. It’s used to gauge interest and generate leads.

For example: “I’m thinking about creating a guide on [topic]. If you’d be


interested in getting a copy when it’s ready, comment ‘me’ below.”

How to Create a Phantom Offer:


1. Choose a topic related to your expertise

2. Post about a potential guide/video/product

3. Ask interested people to comment

4. Reach out to commenters using the PCO script

The PCO Framework:


P - Problem: Identify their main challenge

C - Cost: Help them realize the cost of not solving the problem

O - Offer: Suggest a solution and offer a call

Step-by-Step Script:

1. Initial Contact
“Hey [Name], thanks for commenting on my post about [topic]. I
want to make sure my [guide/video/product] really helps people
like you. Do you mind if I ask you a couple quick questions?”

“What’s your biggest challenge with [topic]?”

3. Quantify the Cost (C)


“If you had solved this problem already, what do you think it
would have meant for you in terms of [relevant metric]?”

4. Reinforce the Cost


“Wow, so what you’re saying is that not solving this problem
has cost you [repeat their answer]. Is that right?”

5. Offer the Solution (O)


“If I could help you [solve their specific problem],
would it be worth a short chat?”

6. Set the Appointment


If they say yes: “Great! I have some time available [suggest
2-3 specific times]. Which works best for you?”

Example Conversations:
1. Fitness Coaching

͖ You: “Hey Mike, thanks for commenting on my post about building


muscle mass. I want to make sure my guide really helps people
like you. Do you mind if I ask you a couple quick questions?”

T Mike: “Sure, go ahead.”

͖ You: “What’s your biggest challenge with


gaining muscle right now?”

T Mike: “I can’t seem to eat enough to put on weight.”

͖ You: “I see. If you had solved this problem already, how many
pounds of muscle do you think you could have gained by now?”

T Mike: “Probably about 15-20 pounds.”

͖ You: “Wow, so what you’re saying is that not solving this problem
has potentially cost you 15-20 pounds of muscle. Is that right?”

T Mike: “Yeah, I guess so. I hadn’t really thought about it like that.”

͖ You: “I understand. If I could help you create a nutrition


plan that makes it easier to eat enough and gain
that muscle, would it be worth a short chat?”

T Mike: “Yes, that would be great.”

͖ You: “Excellent! I have some time available tomorrow at 2


PM or Friday at 10 AM. Which works better for you?”

2. Marriage Coaching

͖ You: “Hi Lisa, thanks for commenting on my post about


improving communication in marriage. I want to make
sure my video series really helps people like you. Do
you mind if I ask you a couple quick questions?”

T Lisa: “Of course, go ahead.”

͖ You: “What’s your biggest challenge with


communication in your marriage right now?”

T Lisa: “We always seem to end up arguing


instead of resolving issues.”

͖ You: “I see. If you had solved this problem already, how do


you think it would have improved your relationship?”

T Lisa: “We’d probably be much happier and


spend more quality time together.”

͖ You: “Wow, so what you’re saying is that not


solving this problem has cost you happiness and
quality time in your marriage. Is that right?”

͖ You: “I understand. If I could help you and your partner


learn effective communication strategies to resolve
conflicts peacefully, would it be worth a short chat?”

T Lisa: “Definitely, that would be really helpful.”

or Wednesday at 1 PM. Which works better for you?”

3. Done-for-You Email Copywriting Service
