HPLC Communication Protocol

The GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC glycated hemoglobin analyzer by Meril Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. can upload analytical data to a laboratory information system (LIS) via a serial communication protocol. It analyzes A1c in blood samples, requiring professional verification of results before transmission. Data transmission includes machine model, sample information, and analysis results, formatted with specific start and stop characters.

Communication protocol

GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC glycated hemoglobin analyzer marketed by Meril Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd. can upload the analytical
data automatically/manually to the laboratory information system (LIS) by the serial communication protocol.
GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC glycated hemoglobin analyzer can examine A1c contained in the blood.
The analyzer can analyze the whole blood/diluted sample, display the peak map of glycated and non-glycated hemoglobins in
the sample, and figure out %A1ab, %F, %La1c, %A1c and %A0 by the area ratio of peak shape.
Before transferring the data to the LIS system, it is necessary for the professional personnel to check the analyzed peak shape
figure of the sample, confirm acceptance of the experimental result and then transmit it to the LIS system.
Two-way communication is used between the GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC software and LIS system, so correct serial signal
communication must be ensured. However, transmission is one-way only for data transmission.
The data of LIS system, operation directive, and GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC glycated hemoglobin analyzer.
The analysis result of each sample is transmitted to the LIS system, including machine model, sample information and sample
data, as well as one pair of start and stop characters.

Physical connection and communication setting

At the back of the GLUQUANT HBA1C HPLC glycated hemoglobin analyzer, there is an RS-232 serial port with 9 pins,
connected to the LIS system, which is used for connecting a computer hyperterminal.
The user may at option choose the baud rate, data bit, parity and stop bit.
The default setting of the system: 115200 baud rate, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
