SUMMARY
The present study will investigate the relationship between cognitive impairment, physical frailty
and social isolation among middle, late adulthood and elders. The objective of the study is to
explore the role of demographics (age, gender, family system, income group etc.) and to check
the relationship between cognitive impairment, physical frailty and social isolation. Sample of
(N=300), n=150 female and n=150 male middle, late adulthood and elders will be chosen from
hospitals and rehabilitation center of Chakwal by using convenient sampling technique.
Correlational research design will be chosen for study. Data collection involves the use of
standardized instruments including The Cognitive Assessment Questionnaire by E. Broadbent
(1982) to measure cognitive impairment, The Frailty Index for Elders by Christine Tocchi (2014)
measure physical frailty and Lubben Social Network Scale to measure social isolation.
Descriptive statistics, demographic analysis such as t-test to check the mean difference, Pearson
product moment correlation to check the significant positive or negative relationship among
cognitive impairment, physical frailty and social isolation will be used. Implications of the study
include uncovering potential correlation between cognitive impairment, physical frailty and
social isolation, offering insights into improved outcomes and more fulfilling relationships.
