Declustering Tools
Declustering Tools
Technical Data
Technical Name of Business Function HCM_LOC_CI_50
You can use this business function to store payroll results and other HCM specific data in transparent
tables as well as the standard compressed cluster fields. In order to use HCM data stored in cluster
database tables in HANA modeling, the clustered tables need to be declustered and saved in transparent
tables. The HCM Declustering Tools use specified declustering logic according to cluster tables and
IDs. This allows for customer-specific reporting on the results.
This business function currently provides the capability for declustering HCM data tables from the
cluster table PCLx, such as International payroll result tables and China payroll result tables.
Currently, depending on the amount of tables to be declustered, declustering can put more load on
your system and may lead to an increase in runtime for the payroll run or other processes with write
access to clusters.
You can use the declustering tools by activating the business function in the Switch Framework: Display
Business Function Status(transaction SFW5) and performing the Customizing activities under Declustering
Tools.
Integration
You can also use this business function to decluster Time Evaluation results stored in cluster table
PCL2of RELID B2. This business function is a prerequisite to perform the following Customizing
activities:
—WCÁá Time Management Declustering Switch On or Switch Off Synchronous Declustering
—WCÁá Time Management Declustering Maintain Declustering Registry for Time Evaluation Results
NOTE
You activate the switch HRDCT_PTIM_SFWS_SC_01 to perform the Customizing activities and the
report (RPTDCT_INITIAL_LOAD_B2 ) for Time Evaluation results.
Prerequisites
—WCÁá You have installed the following components as of the version mentioned:
—WCÁ” SAP_HRRXX 604
Or you have installed the country specific components of the version mentioned, for example:
—WCÁ” SAP_HRCCN 604
In order to use the Declustering Tools side-by-side function, you must also install DMIS add-on
(SLT). For more information, see Declustering in HCM Payroll [external document].
Features
The HCM Declustering Tools contain the following features:
Generic Declustering
You can continuously switch on the declustering function in general by activating this Business
Function. The generic function covers end-to-end payroll processes. The Declustering Tools decluster
required tables from the payroll results in cluster table PCL2. For each PCLx/RELID cluster table, a
transparent DDIC table is automatically created; including a suitable table key reflecting the structured
key of the PCLx table key SRDTF.
If configured accordingly, the system will consistently update the corresponding transparent DDIC
tables during the end-to-end payroll process. The following payroll scenarios are supported:
(F$¢}h Payroll run
(F$¢}h Repetition of payroll run
(F$¢}h Deletion of payroll results
(F$¢}h Deletion of personnel number (via transaction PU00 as well as reports RPUDELPN and RPUDELPP)
(F$¢}h Adjustment of payroll results by reports such as pre-DME reports
(F$¢}h Off cycle workbench
(F$¢}h Archiving of payroll results
(F$¢}h Data destruction
NOTE
Both the archiving and data destruction functions delete the declustered data in the transparent
tables.
NOTE
Non standard access to cluster tables, such as direct SQL statements or unbuffered access by reports,
is not supported by this business function.
Customized Declustering
You can switch on the declustering function and define the database connection per PCLx table and
RELID, and you can configure which subset of the allowed cluster tables must be declustered, using the
following Customizing activities:
(F$¢}h Define Settings for Declustering Tools
(F$¢}h Register Payroll Result Tables to Be Declustered
You can access the Customizing activities in the Payroll International or country Payroll structure, such
as Payroll China under Declustering Tools. For example, to access the Customizing activities for International,
choose
(F$¢}h Payroll International Declustering Tools Define Settings for Declustering Tools and Register Payroll Result
Tables to Be Declustered
Initial Load Report
You can execute an initial load report (RPCDCT_INITIAL_LOAD) to fill in the new transparent DDIC
tables with the existing payroll results. You can execute the report from the SAP Easy Access Menu in the
Payroll International or country specific Payroll structures under Subsequent Activities. For example, to execute
the report for Payroll International, choose
7,váÂy Human Resources Payroll International Subsequent Activities Payroll Result Declustering Initial Load
(transaction HRDCT_LOAD_PY_RX)
The selection criteria for the report are as follows:
7,váÂy HR Master Data Selection Criteria (PNP)
7,váÂy Cluster ID (RELID) and tables to be declustered
7,váÂy Data selection interval (PNP fields)
If there is a transparent result that fits to the selection criteria for which no corresponding PCLx/
RELID record exists, the initial load report will delete the inconsistent transparent results.
You can assign a secondary database connection for each RELID that is used by the declustering function
for access to the new transparent DDIC tables. In this case, the definition of each transparent table
registered for declustering must be available in the secondary database. To do this, you configure the
SAP Landscape Transformation (SLT) accordingly.
NOTE
For the new transparent tables, no secondary database indices are delivered as standard as these
tables are mainly intended to be filled in a data base with columnar storage, such as SAP HANA.
Customizing Switch
In the Customizing activity Register Payroll Results to Be Declustered , you can switch on or off per cluster
table and ID the result tables you wish to decluster.
