NOTE: For vehicles equipped with side impact


air bags - before disconnecting the SRS connector STEP 2
located under the passenger seat, wait 90 seconds
minimum after battery disconnection.

A. Remove Center Cluster and Radio/Combo


STEP 1
1. Disconnect negative battery cable before any
disassembly starts.

STOP 2. Place all removed parts on protected surface. Nylon Pry Tool

3. Remove AC/Heat control panel (Step 1 in


Figure A1). Pry four clips using nylon pry
tool. Then disconnect wires from AC/Heat
controls. Clip location is depicted by arrows
in Figure A1.
4. Remove AC Duct faceplate (Step 2 in
Figure A1). Disconnect clock wire harness.

5. Use 10 mm socket to remove four bolts on
Radio/Combo, disconnect wires and remove
Radio/Combo.

A. Remove the Scuff Plate and Kick Panel


1. Remove scuff plate using nylon pry tool as
indicated by arrows in Figure B1
2. Remove under dash cover by pressing on the
indented areas (3 places) as indicated in
Figure B2 and then pulling in a downward
motion.

to unscrew nut as shown in Figure B3

B. Remove the Glove Compartment


1. Remove the bolt on lower right side of glove
box. (Figure C1).
2. Remove cap on lower left side of glove box
using the small tip NRT to reveal Phillips
screw and remove. (Figure C1 inset). SCREW

3. Remove 3 Phillips screws from top of glove


box. (Figure C1) and remove glove box. CAP

C. Prepare Passenger Seat Head

1. Remove the two forward seat bolts using

14 mm socket. Tilt seat forward and slide Phillips Screwdriver
forward.
2. Remove rear bolt covers.
3. Remove the 2 rear bolts.
NOTE: Before disconnecting the SRS connector Remove these connectors
located under the passenger seat, if equipped,
ensure 90 seconds has passed since removing
battery negative cable.
STOP 4. Apply vehicle protection to the center console
area and tilt the seat back (be careful not to
scratch vehicle and pull on wire harness),
revealing bottom of seat and disconnect the
connectors depicted in the circled area and Remove and Replace W/H Clip

remove the seat clip depicted by the arrow in


Figure D1. A replacement clip is in the kit. Figure D1

D. Route Wire Harness


1. Starting under the passenger seat, leave 3"-4"
out of the carpet hole.
2. Route wire harness along same path as seat
ATTACH FOAM
harness under the carpet until you get to scuff TAPE HERE

plate. Then route wire harness, using wire tie


to fix bend, under the scuff plate on the
outside of vehicle, use the existing clips to
secure the wire harness along the scuff plate. Figure E1
(Figure E1).

3. Route wire harness from scuff plate clips up
through the glove compartment to back of
head unit. (See Figure E2) Bundle excess wire harness

4. Route wire harness through center cluster as


shown in Figure E3.
5. Secure the wire harness using one foam tape
and one wire tie as indicated in Figure E1.
6. Secure the wire harness using the six wire ties
as indicated by the circled areas in Figure E2.
7. Bundle any excess wire harness with the wire
tie closest to the radio (Figure E2).
8. Use the T-connection plus 10 pin connector Figure E2
and plug into back of radio. Wrap the loose
connectors with foam tape and wrap the fuse
to the main harness with foam tape.
9. Clip the wire ties.
E. Install Sub Woofer
1. Place carpet cutting template in vehicle. The
template is aligned to the rear seat bolts.
2. Using a razor knife, cut the carpet and foam
padding. Lift the flap of carpet/padding up
that was cut to expose the floor of the vehicle.
3. Clean floor of vehicle and rear bracket bottom Figure E3
with cleaner to remove dust and oils. Peel off
paper coating from one side of butyl rubber 20mm
VEHICLE FRONT

adhesive and attach to rear of sub woofer

bracket. Remove the other tape cover then
install the sub woofer in vehicle using front
locator pins as guides. (Figure F1) Replace
carpet flap over rear bracket.
4. Lower seat to original position, making sure
the seat locator pins go through the front Butyl Rubber Adhesive
brackets and into the floor holes.

5. Hand start the seat bolts and then torque to
37 N-m (27 lbf-ft)

F. Reassemble Vehicle
1. When reinstalling the radio, hand start the
bolts before using a wrench.
2. Reinstall all removed panels and parts. Be sure
all panel clips are engaged properly.
3. Re-connect negative battery terminal with
4.1 N-m (3 lbf-ft). of torque.
4. NOTE: The sunroof may not operate
correctly when the battery has been
disconnected. If this is the case the sunroof
needs to be reset do the following:
i. Cut the plastic roof protection wrap (if
present) using a Nylon Removal Tool or a
Plastic squeegee on the right, left, and rear
edges of the sunroof.
ii. Then normalize the sunroof by pushing
and holding the switch to the "TILT UP"
side until the sunroof tilts all the way up
and then tilts down a little automatically
(approx. 10 mm at the rear).
iii. Confirm SLIDE/OPEN and TILT/UP
functions.
iv. When completed, make sure the sunroof is
completely closed.

5. Place Operation Manual into glove box.

SRS Lamp, (if equipped with passenger side SRS Warning lamp illuminates
air bag) approxinmately 3 seconds then goes off.
